Does anyone have a source for the GL CHD file? I just need the 1.6.x CHD file for now so I don't want to have to buy a new set of MAME ROMs right now.

help?

romkeeper.com, that what your talking about?

sign up to the site, seach gauntlet, click the gauntlet legends, click download, and click chd

they have like every chd on that site

its 1000mb

And so you know it will be laggy as hell after you wait that long for the down load. If your running it in mame

thanks for the link, I got a lot of games at my work with hard drives that are randomly locking up and all that fun stuff. glad to know I have a resource in case my drives are FUBAR. :)

and yes, you can decompress the CHD to a hard drive for use with an arcade machine. another testament to the ownage that is MAME (for its original purpose, that is).

if you want instructions on how to do this, my trusty link I've shared with dozens on here now: http://www.revisionx.com/kiproject/chdman.html

I know that's for KI, but it works for any CHD and hard drive. beautiful part about the latter Midway/Atari games is they take any hard drive, no hacked roms like KI/KI2 necessary.

Good

Everything is working now. I get the 3 strikes message when using the CF drive, but it works fine afterwards. I just needed a god CHD file. Most of the sites out there are full of junk and other things.

thanks

Wonder where the 3 strikes comes from?

Does it not like your CF card? Or does it not like your CF adapter?

CF

Everyone else gets these messages with GL and CF cards...

My guess is this:

1 - Either there is a slight delay at boot. Perhaps if the CF powered on first and then the PCB the game would load better
2 - Some kind of disk check fails -specific to a HD not a CF
3 - CF adapter

If we had a source at Atari we could solve this.
