We are hearing many stories about cine version simply because there are a hell of a lot of people using them lately. I had a Cine crap out after 3 months. Shostak told me that Wintron and his version both had their flaws/faults. Darn if I can remember the intricate details but he more or less said the ONLY flyback that does the job perfectly was the original. Dave it's great you're trying to fill your need for a Wintron/Lexel and asking people if they need/want one, and maybe I've missed something some where in this thread but don't sit there and judge a product that you have yet to claim to have had personal bad experiences with. Stick to the facts. And FWIW - I have never said anything negative about the Wintrons performance because I have never owned one. If we get so hung up on the US VS Chinese made I would bet 90% of our household items wouldn;t exist. That is a guess of course.

Lastly I would guess any version "Simon, Chad, Bob" is the EXACT same one shostak designed that Hovee whored out.

I am not the one that first mentioned the Chinese versions. Look at my original post. Other people brought that crap into the thread first. The truth is, I have 2 chinese versions running in my game and although they work, I just don't trust them and want to replace them. You get what you pay for. I also spoke to the president on the phone. According to him they do not have them "lying around". Believe and buy what you want. Once again, I try to help make these available and look at the drama it brings. If you want one great, if not, why are you in this thread ?3
EDIT: that isn't just directed at you, it's directed at all the people polluting this thread.

I now need 5 more orders to make this happen.

Yes Arc I agree - I and others shouldn't have opened our mouths beings we have no intent to buy. I was merely trying to point out that it'll be a tough sale considering the price difference between yours and the "alternative." But when the "alternative" is being downgraded I felt it to be an unfair and unjust accessment. If you feel these "chinese knock off piece of craps" aren;t trust worthy then by all means go with your gut instinct. I'm done posting about this and sorry if I crapped on your thread. I wish you luck on your endeavor. I hope Lexicon realizes their price will play a major role in restrictive sales.

There is a company here in the US that sells new flybacks that are just like the original black Wintron/Pentran flyback. They come with a 1 year warranty. He normally sells them for $250 each but would do a bulk price of $125 each ( probably would be a little shipping involved too as he would send them to me and then I would send them out) so figure closer to $150-ish by the time they are packed and shipped. Lead time would be about 3 weeks as this is not something they make on a regular basis. This company bought out Wintron and has the legal rights to make this flyback. If anyone is interested in putting the real deal on their amplifone let me know. If i can pre-sell 10 or even close to it, i will proceed.

Im sorry. I figured comparing electronics to electronics was better than comparing driving a car off a lot and opening a NIB arcade game :rolleyes:

Forgive me for my awful comparison.

BTW - My XBOX cost me $100 when I bought it. Never a problem. My XBOX 360 cost me 300+ and died 5 times.

Im sure Dave's flybacks he is offering are awesome. But electronics will fail no matter what. Its just the nature of the world.

I had a working one till I fried it with a bad repair! :( my SW now has a Wintron (installed many years ago before they stopped making them and the repros happened).
