I have and collect commercial wire left over from my jobs that I do. All brand new copper or non copper wire, great quality ranging from 24-18 gauge. Typically it's 2 pair (White/Green/Black/Red), 3 pair (White/Green/Black/Red/Yellow/Brown), 6 pair, and 9 pair multi cable ranging in all different colors and gauges. It just may be a little dusty on the outside of the insulation from being handled, but it's brand new.
We tend to over use wire and we have no choice but to cut the remaining pieces and throw them away, so I was looking to see who would be interested in buying the wire for dirt cheap, or up to 80% less than what the store may charge. Ive used the wire for control panels, harnesses, and of course the speakers and it works just like it should :).
I would probably sell in 4-6-8' piece assorted "kits", and about maybe between 150-250' worth of wire.

Would any of you consider buying? I would think people would want a package deal of wire like a kit for a rebuild or general repair.

Any takers? I don't have a $$ amt in mind yet, but I can tell you it would be nearly next to nothing compared to full retail value.

I would, but not in huge quantities. But I have definitely spent too much money at Home Depot here and there for assorted wiring needs.

If you sold it in small bites - like around $20 or so, I'd be in!

Small bites would range from what amt of feet? I was thinking around that price range give or take.

An example of a wire kit I may assemble could look something like this. . .

Two "6 foot lengths" for a total of 12' of 2 pair 18 gauge wire.
Two "6 foot lengths" for a total of 12' of 6 pair 24 gauge wire.
Two "6 foot lengths" for a total of 12' of 1 pair 22 gauge wire.

All the wire is insulated and foil shielded (easily remove-able like peeling a banana made of aluminum foil) but you may want to keep the wire foiled for the run to the speakers if you suspect interference from your light fixture.

Keep in mind that is not 36' of wire. It's actually 216' of individual useable wire. This is multi-colored, multi-pair cable. If I had to calculate the total footage of useable wire from that kit, it would really be these amounts. . . .
48' of 18 gauge wire multi colored
144' of 24 gauge wire multi colored
and 24' of 22 gauge wire multi colored.

Again it's 216' of useable wire in the space of a 36' footer so you wont have rat nests of coiled wire all over your home.

I am interested in the 18 gauge wire. I do something similar (taking scraps from work) but our stuff is military grade and difficult to work with, unless I were to convert a cab completely over to Amphenol round watertight connectors.

That would be a great resale feature! lol

Stranded or solid? Colors?

Stranded copper or non, solid color insulation typically black, white, red, green, yellow, brown, orange, and blue, insulated, w/foil shield. The colors also vary depending on gauge. The 18 is typically red, black, white, green, sometimes blue and yellow. The 6 & 9 pair multicable has all the colors mentioned.

Are any of the smaller gauges solid as opposed to stranded? Stranded seems a bit of a pain to work with in the smaller wiring...

And I personally would be more interested in the 2-wire than the multi-wire stuff. Come to think of it, I have a ton of CAT5E cable still... Is that the kind of wire this is? If so, then I think I'm good, actually. Sorry about that. Well. But I would still be interested in the 2-wire stuff.

I don't have any solid wire, it just doesnt work well with the type of jobs we do. I have cat5 cable, but that's not the type I was going to put into a kit unless it was requested for some other reason. Really I would think it's all the same serving a purpose as any typical conductor, just a different gauge. I'll have to take pics and label the kits I was going to assemble.

If you wanted just the two pair wire, Id have no problem with that but Id probably ask for some sort of minimum just to make it worth it on my end (perhaps a small $$ amt?).

I'll start taking pics and listing descriptions of the KITS i'll put together so that it helps everyone with what they would be purchasing.
