Cleaned up and reinstalled the vent covers

My Bob Roberts harness almost ready.

I am repining the orig cp so I can swap the orig defender cp with the multi cp after I finish that.

I'm getting good and crimping those pins and sockets.....

Coming together nicely

Still need to finish that damn coin door. I think it will make everything pop when its done.

Its a Bob Roberts jamma harness kit
If you need parts Bob is the man.

I see several jamma harness kits listed on his site.

Economy JAMMA Harness
Super-Super Economy JAMMA Harness Kit
Fully Loaded JAMMA Harness
Super-Super Fully Loaded JAMMA Harness Kit

I have a defender cab that I will be restoring/converting and installing my jrok board into this spring as well.

Finally finished cleaning up and reassembling the coin door.

Some fine steel wool and lots of elbow grease and some chrome polish produced the these results

Spun the bolts in my drill against the micromesh pads of progressively finer, and finer grits, they turn out really nice

Did a test fit of the coin door

I completely forgot about the metal frame having a specific top and bottom.

At first I thought oh shit I am going to have to make the hole bigger cause it was hitting on the bottom, after I stared at the pieces I finally realized that I had them reversed.

Here is a shot of my first test fit

Another after I realized the top and bottom bracket were reversed

IMGP1294.JPG

After I was sure I originally measured correctly I drilled the new bolt holes
and reinstalled the door

damn gator that came out niceeeeeeee!!!!

I have a old tired dead CONVERTED-CONVERTED-CONVERTED and broken, gutted joust saved from a bobn junk run i plan to multiwilliams someday. It it comes out half as nice as your defender i will be delighted. Man you do nice work.

at my work we have a 3m headlamp restoration kit that does quick work of most plastics.

if i didnt have access to that, those micromesh pads would be very handy to have. I might have to get me some of those anyways.

nice work as always man.

Thanks for the comments Guys!

I am so mad at myself I was moving it to a different location in the basement and I hit the corner of my pool table, took a small chunk about 1/4 by 1/2 out of the side and it took a small portion of the t-molding with it.

I have just enough t-molding left to redo the side that was damaged but now I have a small touch up to do.

I am planning on wiring the cab this weekend so I should have pic's of some defender only action soon.

I hope my jrok board still works :)

Still need to cut a new cp for some multi-williams.
I have decided that the multiwilliams cp will have translucent buttons and some led lights under.

If those rollie leafs ever get made I am going to use those instead of micro's

Should look nice.

Yahoo!
Played my first game of Defender in over 6 months
21000
I need to practice..........

Still need to cut and build my multi control panel and wire up the coin door but it works!

It's a great feeling to put the whole thing back together and have it work the first time.

Power supply

Kind of looks like the one from Bob Roberts page huh?

Slapped it inside made sure it was level

Here is the small area of damage that I talked about in my post above
This pissed me off big time, it should patch up ok but I just made more work for myself.

Finally the Money shot :)

Coin door is done and lit now.

34000 and some change...... Damn, this game is hard!

After playing for a few, I have determined that I need to rebuild my original joystick as she is too loose for my taste.

Well its been awhile since I made any progress on this guy as I have getting my butt kicked playing Defender

I bought a used Defender cp and stripped it, filled all the holes with bondo, sanded and repeat, painted and finally had the time to cut some plexi. Multi Williams control panel coming soon!

I have to get over to my Fathers house and use his drill press to cut some holes.

Here is the panel after I filled and sanded it.

For the cpo button positions, I used an old broken leaf switch button holder and cut it so just the round piece was left, this way I had a nice positioning tool for the buttons on top of the cpo, I made sure all the button placements looked correct and did not overlap where they shouldn't, and came close to where they should. Hard to explain but look closely at the cpo and you will see my pencil marks I'll use those as a drill guide. I'll will eventually cut theses holes using my Father's drill press so they will be nice and straight.

To say I procrastinated is an understatement
Finally finished my control panel
Playing Robotron is bitchin!!!!!!

Covered in plexiglass too!

Joysticks are mounted without any routing work done under the cp
I used 2 of the 4inch repro's for sticks and the height is perfect for both Robotron and Defender and Stargate

Looks good but I would have routed the cp to put the dust washers under the cpo.
Here is what I did.
Since you put plex over the cpo you wouldn't need it under like I did.
