The Launch was a great success!

Congrats to Nick Taseris, the ACDC Stern Launch Party Grand Champion!!

Thanks to Ray at Nickelrama for buying New Stern Machines!
Thanks to Betson for providing the second machine!
Thanks to all of the excellent players who show up and support the Stern Launch Parties!

Finals Result
Nick Taseris won the Launch Tournament.
Craig Hassell came in second.
Aaron Nessim came in third.
Ken Kemp came in fourth.

Kid's Result
Andrew Hassell won the Kid's Tournament. Andrew put up 23 million during the Kid's Tournament. That would have qualified in the Adult Tournament!
Jaren Dell came in second.

Austin Kemp came in third.
Caleb Lyons came in fourth.

Launch photos can be found at http://www.pinballrebel.com/pinball/acdc_pinball_launch_party/

During qualifying, Ken Kemp also put up the score of the night, 204,643,720.

It must be noted that he put up the 204 million on a machine with the
cannon disabled. Unfortunately, the cannon broke about 30 minutes
prior to the start of the qualification. Even with the ample pinball
tech talent available at our disposal, we were unable to fix the
cannon.

In my humble opinion, Steve Ritchie has a brand new hit on his hands.
The game play was very addictive. It was fast and the music was the
best I have ever heard on a pinball machine. The rules were well done
and fit brilliantly into the theme. The PRO model stands up well
against other top notch DMD games. The Premium and LE versions are
surely going to push the envelope. I am very excited about playing
the Premium versions at the Texas Pinball Festival!

The highest compliment I can offer AC/DC is that I drove home thinking
about my upcoming schedule and when I could make time to come back to
Nickelrama to play it again.

I guess, when the game works properly... c'mon Stern, you have to have better quality control than this.

Yeah, I had just gotten there, played literally one ball, one other guy played one, and it broke while the third guy was playing. They tried to fix it, but a solder joint popped off the motor and apparently none of us pinheads carry around solder and an iron.

And as I know from the Tron party, setting the score of the night doesn't matter in the end, lol. :)

Go go 7th place WOOHOO! I'm enjoying the TPF hat though. Thanks again for organizing.

Just a solder joint?

Wheres Macgyver when you need him.

I know right?

Apparently, us guys need to keep our repair kits in the car at all times. I would be willing to bet Marc probably had a soldering iron in his vehicle, but didn't want to take the liability for doing work to someone else's machine. Pretty sure the one that broke belonged to Betson. At least I hope it did. If it was Nickelrama's, it may never get properly fixed. ;)

I swear, the LOTR machine has plastics held together with packing tape, LOL.

We had a guy at our local virginia tourney score 247 million on the 1st ball / extra ball on the ac/dc machine. Nothing official but everyone was clapping and taking pics.

Actually was very impressed with machine, one of the better stern machines IMO. Not a big fan of the bright red dmd/led display, very gottliebish. Very good rules, fun gameplay and the music was definitely done right. Was disappointed with Transformers, 1st playing this machine. Found a older stern game that I like now - wheel of fortune.

Ac/dc definitely a better stern title than most recently.
