Found a CL listing today for a garage sale in New Bloomfield (about 15 minutes from my house). It mentioned a "football arcade game" among other random stuff. No price and no description. From previous experience I was expecting this to either be one of those little kiddie "toss the football in the bean bag" type of toy or an overpriced Blitz. But my wife just happened to be in the same town at a horse arena and was getting ready to head home, so I called her and asked her to find out what it was.

She calls me 10 minutes later and tells me it is indeed an arcade game, a High Impact. OK, not a game I really need, but pretty cool to find one at a garage sale. I asked if it was working. "Yep, just really dirty" (of course). Ok, so now how much does the guy want for it? I hear "25 bucks" in the background and my wife shouts out "SOLD!" before I can get another word in. So she comes back home, we hop in the new Ram with blankets in the back seat. We still don't have a bedliner in this truck yet and were already breaking it in for a game haul.

Anyway I get it home and spend a few hours cleaning it, tweaking it and repairing a couple of bad connections. It works great and plays great. The cab it a little rough but not bad, I've definitely seen much worse (like my RoadBlasters, but that's a whole other thread).

Not a bad score, even my old lady is proud.

I play the crap out of this game on the SNES, I love the Pre-NFL blitz feel this game has. Great score even if the game doesn't get alot of respect. I enjoy it.

Great game in a solid Rampage cab. Nice score!

that has the wrong coin door to be a a Rampage...that and the joystick placement would make me guess it was an Arch Rivals. Very similar cabinets, but Arch Rivals is a couple inches shorter in width.

Actually, its arch rivals. Rampage has a midway single door, arch rivals has an over under door.

its in no way a 19" smash tv:

The monitor is right, and the game doesn't play bad on a 19" monitor either. It is a little nicer on a 25", but again, it still works nice on that 19". Very commonly found as a kit game, so it was designed to work well on a smaller monitor.

Here I am losing a game by one point if anyone's interested...

This is a fun game. I'd be half tempted to keep it if I wasn't already out of space.
