At the risk of giving away my next restoration, I need to know. Does anyone know of reproduction side or front art for Gaplus? I'm pretty much stuck until I find out. My cabinet looks pretty good, but of course it could look better. Any ideas?

Edit: Does anyone have a vector of the art?

The illustrations and marquee will be extremely time consuming to repro and expensive to print. And there's no demand even though Gaplus is the best game in the series.

I figured : /

Not enough people have the cabinet to make it worthwhile for all the work. On the bright side, I did find digital copies of the instruction cards so I can at least print those out on my own.

Worst case scenario, if someone who has a cabinet in nice shape can scan in the marquee and cabinet artwork at the highest possible res, someone might be willing to clean it up and do large format inkjet prints. Save the trouble of rebuilding everything only to run a dozen sets. Not as good or as durable as screen printed art, but maybe better than nothing.

It has the worst art in the series, but it's the best of the first three, although I still prefer Galaga 88. I just can't understand why Midway made the artwork look so "blah" compared to Galaxian and Galaga.

You guys are crazy. Gaplus' art is pretty awesome. I'll admit I love the artwork for Galaga, probably more than Gaplus, but the stripes and everything are pretty cool too.

I agree. I think the arts are badass on it. I did make a 3D sketchup model of it a few weeks back. Not sure if it will help anyone with art file reproduction though...

My gaplus side art was stripped and painted black. Not by me.
So I'm going with galaga art on one side, ms. PAC art on the other and gaplus on the front.

I love the gaplus marquee!

Not sure what I am going to do with the bezel. Someone put a galaxian plexi bezel in it. But the art doesn't line up with the monitor.

Oh man, don't get me started on the marquee. The second I pulled mine out of the cabinet was when I fell in love. It's screened directly on to a piece of tempered glass. And mine is 100% perfect, not a single scratch on it.

I didn't think much about it until I fixed the ballast and replaced the bulb.
The light came on and my jaw dropped!
Quite possibly my favorite marquee of all my machines!

If you can scan it in at high res, even if it's in sections on an 8x10 scanner, I can work on cleaning it up and putting it together. Then someone (maybe Rich?) could maybe print a raster version for people who need repros. Not sure what they'd have to charge to make it worthwhile.
