There was a Lemmings prototype by Data East in 1991 which was field tested but never released:
I think Star Raiders, which was made for the Atari home consoles would've made a great Atari VECTOR arcade game BITD.

There was a similar arcade game Star Luster by Namco for the Nintendo Vs. system but I don't think it was released outside of Japan. The ROMs were dumped so you can play it in MAME.

Yeah, I think Star Luster was undoubtedly an updated Star Raiders, but I would've liked to have seen it as a Vector game.
A vector Star Raiders on the Star Wars hardware with the twisty grip controller would have definitely been interesting. I'm guessing Star Raiders wasn't considered for the arcades because a typical game would last too long. Too bad, Star Raiders was a great game and I believe it was the best selling game for the Atari 400/800 family.
Star Raiders was AWESOME! and the Star Trek TOS might be the closest thing we have to it. And that's a great star trek game.
I don't think I knew that. I learned something today.
