Games you think deserved sequels...

Wizard of Wor: New enemies. Bigger more complex mazes. A super-weapon hidden in each maze. Maybe power pills for invisibility, temporary invincibility. Bombs that could be tossed over walls, etc.

GORF.

According to the creator of the game, it was actually made but never released. A tragedy of galactic proportions.

Paperboy 2 would have been cool....wait it was cool. It was renamed 720 and the bike was traded in for a skateboard. But for me the one that did get made that needed to be made differently was ROTJ in vector format.

there should have been a robotron sequel, made in '83 right after sinistar (before smash tv or blaster or whatever other "sequels" there were)...

...that used two 49-way sinistar sticks!

more directions and variable run speed would have been sweet... same gameplay (but you know someone'd screw that up)

or maybe its robotron:2083... before the humans went too far...
MISSION:
IT HAS ALL COME DOWN TO THIS. TO THE ULTIMATE CONFLICT BETWEEN MACHINE AND MAN. YOU ARE THE ONLY HOPE FOR DOMINATION. THE ONLY HOPE FOR RESCUING THE MACHINES FROM THE CLUTCHES OF THESE FLESHY MONSTERS. DESTINY IS IN YOUR HANDS.

but the main thing being the 49-way (or analog) sticks... :)

Black Tiger, Heavy Barrel, Battle Toads, Tutunkamin (spelled wrong, I know).

I believe they are slowly working to make this game playable in some format. Believe the original disks and files still exist.

Do you know if they dumped the disks? I know they were on the old 8-inch kind and they were looking for some kind of data recovery professionals to get the data off, I haven't heard any updates since.

san francisco rush needed the sequel that n64 got, rush across america, complete with stunt stage and tag mode. i would never stop playing that

Primal Rage should have got a sequel it was made never released like Marble madness.

Would have loved to see another Centipede after the Millipede sequel something newer. Same thing with Asteroids after asteroids deluxe. How awesome would it have been to have an asteroids type game in a Sega 360 style setup.:D
Asteroids - Asteroids Deluxe - Space Duel - Blasteroids (the series)

Bosconian.
Bosconian did have a sequel... Blast Off

http://www.arcade-museum.com/game_detail.php?game_id=7143

It plays more like 194x that Bosconian, but some of the same characters are there.

Other games that deserved sequels were:

- Rygar
- BattleZone
- Red Baron
- Quartet (no, Quartet 2 was not a sequel)
- Space Ace
- Tempest
- Jungle King/Hunt

As for sequels that sucked (IMHO):
- Rolling Thunder 2
- Dig Dug 2
- Spy Hunter 2
- Space Duel (Blasteroids was far better)
- Elevator Action Returns (2)

Some people don't realize that Xevious had three sequels: Super Xevious, Solvalou and Xevious 3DG (I have 3DG and it's a blast to play, but horizontal).

+1 on Wizard of Wor

Where did you guys read or hear about the sequel being made but never released etc etc.? That would be sooo fn' awesome to see. It would also be cool to see the concept artwork or to know the original name.

-Sinistar This game should of gotten a sequel and not the one that was released in 99'.
-Final Fight Final Fight series could of had a arcade version release for both 2 & 3.
-Bezerk or Frenzy
-Bad Dudes

-Tempest
-Tutankham
-Bubbles
-Xenophobe (one of the best multiplayer arcade games ever made. Maybe linked cabinets for up to 12 player mayhem)
-Klax
-Zoo Keeper

StarBlade. While Project Dragoon was more or less StarBlade on steroids and Operation Blue Planet never made it out of prototype stage, a true sequel never really materialized.
