Games you see for sale in your area over and over and over...

Searching around on Craigslist, I'm sure we all see games like Galaga and Ms. Pac come up frequently, but what other games do you see up for sale seemingly all of the time?

For me, it's Virtua Fighter. There always seems to be 2 or 3 of them for sale when I do my tri-state searches. Either there's a large population of them around these parts, or the same 3 machines keep getting bought and resold...quickly.

Here is a prime example:

That machine has been for sale ever since I got into arcade games, about 2 years. When I first saw his posts, he was at $1795. Only recently did he reduce it to $1395.

He'll be taking a beating since he paid $4400 for it and all.

Edit to add: I get that my link / comments aren't directly on point, but geez. We always have a Phoenix for sale around here because of this guy.

Around here it's always pole position and asteroids machines and trust me, i'm doing my best to rid the state of this chronic problem. I just laid another pp to rest and 3 more asteroids machines are headed for the klov cemetary. I can't keep up and i'm growing tired.

I think the posters idea was to find out what game pops up the most due to availability verses some jerk off that keeps trying to sell their overpricd crap like this tool in my area

4 months later and he's come down from $700

I seriously want to buy this machine and beat it with a sledge hammer right in front of him. He's too lazy to even take a good picture.

I think the Mulino Centipede has been on there off and on for more like 18 months- maybe that's just not enough time to take some decent pictures.

full size real atari centipede arcade game coin changer

So, if I insert a quarter, do I get 2 dimes and 1 nickel in return, 1 dime and 3 nickels, or just 25 pennies?

Back when the KC Group was going to multiple auctions around the Central US we'd talk about trends in game titles. There are certain areas that for whatever reason seemed to have multiples of games that would be unlikely to be found at another auction say for example in Iowa.

We at times made a point of taking certain titles to certain auctions to maximize the effect, and at other times bought at one to sell at another. Our theory was based on local distributors and larger operators.

Jukeboxes tend to follow similar trends due to BITD mafia influences- there are places you won't find a single Rockola but droves of Seeburgs, and vice-versa in another state.

jeez, I think you're right. I think he started last year for around $800 too.

Around here what would you guys say? Besides the usual DK's and Ms.pacs I'd say theres an infestation of Neo Geo's, pole positions, outruns, and Street Fighter 2's around Mid-oregon here.

There were like ZERO Donkey Kongs on craigslist when I was looking for one, right after King of Kong. Now I've got no room and can't get past 80K on the 48-in-1 so I'm off it, but it seemed as soon as I was done looking, Denver got flooded.

DO YALL WANT A KONG

There's a guy who's been trying to get rid of a Super Pac-Man for months. He wants $500 for it but can't seem to get rid of it.

I've seen at least 5-6 Mr & Mrs. Pacman pinball machines in my area on ebay or craigslist in the last 2 years. Considering there aren't many machines listed at all, that is ALOT.

Wow. I don't recall ever seeing ONE in my area.

Methinks you have them all in your part of the world!

HAHA I knew that machine would come up here. That sucker has been for sale longer than I can remember. IIRC, Mulino isn't even near Oregon City either, WTF?

I was trying to be "somewhat" nice. Yes if the truth be known this machine has plagued us for soo friggin long it's ridiculous. The hard part is I'm a FIRM believer that a person can ask what ever they want because it's theirs. The part I don't understand is this dude would have to have gotten a clue by now right?
Then you have the guy in Milwaukie trying to dump that Track and Field for $500 - which orginally started at $800. every couple months he relists it and drops the price another $100. I've dealt with this guy before. He buys shit cheap - sits on it for a few months then tries flipping it to make money. If it doesn;t sell he removes it for a couple months and then relists it at the original starting price.

And don;t get me started on these two idiots.

The other was the DK and Ms pac that he/she has changed the price 4 times since listing it yesterday (just deleted by author) for originally $2200 when the Ms pac is dead and the DK needs a cap kit and the pictures suck - then down to $1100 Then up to $1200 then to $1400. Geez man make up your mind already.

Ok - sorry for the rant guys ..... carry on

He thinks it's worth $500 and keeps on listing it over and over. Every 2-3 days on CL.

it's also on ebay w/ no bids. It's been a month now or so...

It seems high to you, but it is clean looking and a decent 'lay-person' price. Some people pay good money for clean, good working games believe it or not. I've yet to have one buyer complain about the price they pay for one of my games. I bought it dead, so I get a low price. I sell it working and cleaned up, so I get a high price.

I see that one all the time- its been on there for at least a year. 500 for a painted black super pac? Hardly. Not that i'm in the market or trying to price police, but i'd think 250 if it works all the way and needs nothing would be a fair price.
And a SPM cab looks funky painted black with that big sideways V cut out of it.
