games you remember playing at 7/eleven or the liquor store

I put so much money into the Galaga cocktail at the local Noble Romans (pizza place). I'm lucky enough to own a Galaga cocktail and a stand up.

shoot... now you guys have me craving a coca cola flavored slurpee, some funions and a slim jim beefstick the next time I fire up my games :D

Awesome.

I had two 7-11s I frequented. The one on 400 East and about 2000 south had Black Tiger and 1943. They stayed for over a year from 87 and into 88. I loved both those games and have examples of them in my gameroom today.

The one on 500 West and 1500 South had mostly crappy games in it. My friend got hooked on NARC the winter of 1988 and we played it a bunch, but I never liked it. Nice monitor, though.

Our equivalent to 7-11 here in Indianapolis was called 'Village Pantry'..Used to be a decent gameroom at the 86th & Ditch Rd. location :)

Ours had:

Black Knight 2000
Whirlwind
Ivan Stewart's Off Road

Golden Axe, E-Swat, Ghouls & Ghosts, Willow, Final Fight, Street Fighter 2, WWF Superstars. These are the ones that really stand out.

I remember dropping who knows how much money at the local Smiths playing Bad Dudes, Shinobie and Contra. Now I go and there are no video games, just crane games.

Back in California, Spent probably more time in the local liquor stores than at school. One liquor store in Norwalk had a Nibbler and a few other games, got pulled out of the store by my ear from my mom just for watching the game being played (was grounded from playing though). An AM/PM liquor/gas had a Thief and a couple others. Another gas station had a room off to the side that had Robotron, Dig Dug and a few others, then just beyond that I had Golf n' Stuff that had a lot of games (Watch Karate Kid-The original!).
In Missouri, When I came out here for summer vacation back in 84, the 7Eleven by me had a couple games, and while I was there one day, they got the "NEW" Donkey Kong Jr. fresh off the truck and I was one of the 1st to break it's cherry. Couple doors down was a Diary Queen that had a cocktail Donkey Kong. When I moved here in late 91, they still had it probably for another 5 years after that.
