Pretty much any laserdisc game since none of the players were strong enough to hold-up to the constant use. :(

What I meant was what was ahead its time as in it was good, not shitty. Anyway no arcade game was designed with the thought that people would be playing them 30 years later.

time traveller. the game play was so-so at best, but the potential was there.

1980 - 1983 Bouncer by Entertainment Sciences
Game play: You're a bouncer, keeping riff-raff from bothering patrons
Technology: Scalable graphics, characters scanned from animated cells, high-resolution,
Controls: Trackball, Buttons

Ahead of it's time, as the graphics were near cartoon quality (high-res), but it was introduced at the same time as Laserdisc games, and operators were only interested in laserdisc technology at the times.

I know there is probably a great many but this one I have always remembered.

1987
I think Xybots is very underrated, and fun to play. I used to own one and wouldn't mind having another one. Quote from KLOV:

"This is possibly one of the first 3-D shooters ever made. While there are none of the full, free motion effects of the traditional modern day 3-D engines, you are able to change perspectives on the fly."

And how can you resist names such as these?

"The names of the characters are Captian Ace Gunn and Major Rock Hardy."
