there are like so many games that should have been arcade games. I think if I had a choice of only like 2 though, one would have to be twisted metal 2 (2 player cab) & ToeJam and Earl (2 player)

Wild guns on snes this could of been the sequel to cabal. Still one of my favorite shooters from the snes its very arcade esqe in its design but I suppose at that time most game were still arcade inspired.

Based on console/computer games:

Atari 2600's Yar's Revenge & Haunted House
Intellivision's Night Stalker & Astro-Smash
TI 99/4a's Slimeoids, Big Foot and Moon Mine

Unreleased proto-types:

Marble Madness II
Beavis and Butthead / the great Cornholio should not have been denied!

Good call!

I'll also add the SNES game Axelay (a shooter). It should have been an arcade game. The perspective angles they used would have benefited from a stronger CPU to power the effect. I'm sure the cabinet would have been wicked looking based on the graphics and motif.

Zombies Ate My Neighbors (SNES)

That game was the shit. My game room is named after it (Zombies Ate My Arcade) in honor of its awesomeness.

KABOOM! would have been cool.

Kaboom! was a port of the arcade game Avalanche.

Yar's Revenge would've been a great one. They could've kept the sound exactly the same.

The old Mac game Maelstrom, an Asteroids variant, would've made for a good machine.

All games should be in the Arcades the real Proving Grounds! Would have loved too seen the Mega Man Games from the consoles in the arcades. Not the fighters that they Mega Man out too be .

There was a network game (I think it was on the Amiga, but I am not sure) that was like a rat's eye view Pac Man. You ran through a maze that had up to 8 other players in it. That would have been very cool in linked arcade cabinets.

It was a big hit at the computer shows in the 80's, but I can't remember the name.
