Games That Get Hard Too Fast

Another vote for Missile Command (and Super Missile Command).

Hide the pickle is one that gets too hard too fast.

Rush'n'attack

Recently started playing this on my Playchoice 10 and the first level is like a breeze and then you go right into a level with guards shooting from towers that you can't do anything about and they always manage to shoot bullets at the worst possible time. Like right when you're stopping to kill something or jumping mid air and you can't dodge the bullet... one hit, one death.

Try the real (actual PCB) game if you get the chance. My favorite, very very underrated but luckily gets a little love. I see at least 10 deconversions a year it seems like of this title. We have too many mint Jousts now and not enough Rush N' Attacks - destroying arcade history no matter how much people want to sugar-coat it.

Berzerk. Game is too easy/boring at the start, then gets too hard too fast.

I think my high score is around 13k.

Yah vote number ten for Missile Command.. a game I really like but royally suck at.

That's right around where I am, but at least it takes a couple minutes to get there. For me the two toughest games I have Sinistar and Space Invaders Deluxe. I've been past the second level in Sinistar once I think, and never been past the third level in SID.

Love me some Rush N' Attack! The NES/Playchoice version had better music, but I favor the arcade version. Tough, but the enemies are really predictable once you learn their patterns. I like all the cold war pseudo Soviet imagery. When I was a kid I thought the game was really just called "Russian Attack" because that definitely seemed to be the theme. The Euro version is called "Green Beret", sometimes mistakenly believed to be a bootleg, but it was the legit release of the game in Europe.
