Games That Are Unknown (but not Extinct!) - ie: Atari Splash

An extinct games thread was just posted: http://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?t=214519

Which leads me to the an interesting question. How many games do collectors have (or know someone that has) that are not in KLOV or TAFA or are otherwise basically unknown, but aren't extinct?

I'm currently seeing and hearing about a regular stream of them from people.

How about Atari's Splash?
(not to be confused with a much later game also called 'Splash')

Not in KLOV (yet)
Not mentioned in KLOV forums (at least not in the last 1,905,773 posts)
Not in TAFA
Not in MAME
One reference in Google, to a forum post about an eBay auction in 2009:
http://www.gamesforum.ca/showthread.php?t=379615

So far just a myth.

Attached is a photo of the myth, serial #164.

Not Extinct

Production - Not Even a Prototype

I don't know if this counts, and it's probably not too exciting......
I've got a cocktail game called Phantom (not the Midway game called Phantom II). It was made by a campany called Independant Entertainment Company, Inc. I've never found any information on it. It's black & white and looks to be early-to-mid 1970's era. It's never worked since I've picked it up, but I'm guessing a paddle/ball type of game play.

Just found out that a game I've been looking for, Atari's Crash 'N Score, was released in Europe under the name Stock Car. According to this Wikipedia page (which doesn't reference this info), it's actually a modified version - how modified I have no idea.

There are plenty of non-US games which aren't in KLOV or TAFA but I wouldn't call them unknown rather both sites are rather US-centric. I'd say I have over 200 games not on KLOV.

There are plenty of US games that aren't in KLOV or TAFA either (and I'm not talking about prototypes).

I would be interested in those modern games, I like weird games. Like this recent one from Korea:

Here's the 2011 Contra 1 remake, Contra: Evolutionary Revolution only sold in China. I currently have it up for play in Akihabara at Try Tower.

Interesting to see that Chinese Contra game on a location. I read about it and I guess it is easy to find and setup on a PC but I hadn't really looked into it. Thanks for sharing

I love seeing the rare and forgotten. How many times can one get excited over yet another Robotron or Pac-Man?

Off subject but I could never get my Ivan Stewart super off road in my vaps...

I've owned a couple Crash 'n Score machines over the years.. Kinda cool game if you can find one working, or keep it working :(

Anyone know anything about the 1985 Japanese Taito Laserdisc game Space Battleship Yamato arcade game? Did it ever get to or past the prototype stage? The web site below says Where was it? Exclusively on video screens at Taito Game Centers, the nation's biggest video arcades. Taito is still in business, the Game Centers are still there, but the Yamato game is long gone, along with all the other Laserdisc games of its era.I wonder if it's still out their somewhere.
