Games That Are SO Rare, You Can't Even Find Pictures of the Cabinet

For some reason, I'm never able to find cabinet pictures of two classic Namco games from the '80s - The Tower of Druaga and Phozon. I've seen the flyers, I've played the games... but where are the cabinet pictures? Surely these games had cabinets, no?

And what about the underrated BurgerTime sequel, Peter Pepper's Ice Cream Factory? Yep... seen the flyers, played it... but still no cabinet.

I can think of quite a few others. Why can't we find any cabinet pictures for these games?

Most of them (like Peter Pepper) are kit only. Phozon might have had a dedicated release in Japan. If they had a dedicated cab and there's still no image, it's usually because they didn't get much play and/or were released while the industry was slumping.

If you have seen the flyers... How in the world could you miss the cabinets in the background?

Edit: This one is for sale.

I don't believe that chick ever played a video game, she's standing on the wrong side of the control panel. Looks like fun "derp".

LOL - you just made a royal fool out of yourself. That's not even the game I was talking about.

Well, I can't imagine a game as popular as The Tower of Druaga was just stuck in a generic cab, but I know that Namco did have some generic cabs over in Japan...

The Deco cassette system manual has a drawing which looks like the Pepper II cabinet above. I'm not sure if they actually shipped those cabinets or not. A bunch of the flyers for the cassette system show nasty conversions. So I doubt there is a "dedicated" cabinet for the ice cream factory.

Wait..that game was popular?
In Japan, it was a sensation. In fact, the Japanese place it in the same league as games like Pac-Man. But, when tested in American arcades, it was a complete flop.

As for my opinion on it? Well, it's very unfair. But it can be somewhat engrossing, and it's not as frustrating when you have the speedy boots.

(I just thought of another rare game - IQ-Block. It's a challenging 1993 puzzler that can be played on MAME. KLOV doesn't even have it listed.)

I've always liked Teddy Boy Blues, but I don't recall ever seeing a picture of a marquee or CPO for it, forget about sideart or any kind of cabinet... though I do remember playing it at CA Extreme (WAY back). At least recently somebody uploaded some of the original music to Youtube so I could finally hear what it sounds like!

And yes, if somebody posts a picture of the cabinet I'll be impressed. :D

It seems that most Japanese games were only released in cocktail kit form by the mid 80s, save for Ride-on/Deluxe games. Then by the late 80s the "Candy" cabinets started to come into popularity.

I'm in the same boat. The flyers for both Popper and Beezer mention coming in a dedicated cabinet, but the flyers either don't show a cabinet at all or only show the kit. I've never seen or heard of a dedicated. I'd sure like to at least see one some time.
