Hey fellas. Just had a question. Has anyone checked out this multiboard? Is it any good? It advertises as having no glitches. Are multigame boards faulty like mame?
Well before I decided to buy a cab with couple jamma boards, I hacked my Xbox and installed mame. Initially, I loved it because it had almost every arcade game ever made!!!! But then..... I slowly discovered that many many games were very glitchy or had corruption issues! I also noticed that some games I'm very familiar with didn't run as well as I remember, you guys know what I mean? I don't know if its because of the game pad but something about it.... didn't seem to play like I remember. I can't put my finger on it... anyways sorry to rant a bit, but I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this model or something similar.

Thanks!

MAME isn't glitchy, you just ran it on crap hardware. Probably pretty close to the same crap hardware the multi-boards use. The current version of MAME on a halfway decent PC is way better than all of the multi-boards I've seen... Colors are correct, sounds are correct, and it can easily do both horizontal and vertical games on the same machine.

M.A.M.E. emulation is hella better than any multigame I've ever played (though I haven't tried the ArcadeSD, which I assume is better). However, it also requires a pretty beefy computer to emulate hardware 100% correctly. If you run it on low-spec stuff you're going to get bad slowdown or frame skip, etc...

doesn't take beefy hardware at all to run the classics. You can get by on an old pentium 3... I second that, the current mame runs the games VERY well. Colors, sound etc are excellent.

Decade old mame on ANY hardware is actually better than modern mame on modern hardware for the majority of titles.

Decade old mame is what a lot of the crap multiboards use and that's why they suck. Decade old mame had wrong sounds, wrong colors,...
All the classics now are pretty damn good. Any glitches I noticed I posted on the forum and they were fixed on the next updated release.

There is a huge difference between mame .35 ported to a cell phone processor with inferior audio capabilities and .55 on PC hardware.

Most of the multiboards suck because the chinese factories making them put zero care into making anything resembling a quality product.

Thank you guys! If anyone has any reviews of this games king board, please post! Again thanks for the replies fellas!

I have one, it is not bad. Sounds are not the greatest, but could be worse. I played MVC for about 2 hours the other day and it was like I remember, although I dont really care if my sound is exact. Metal slug seemed to play different than on my neogeo, but I have not played it on my neogeo i about a year or two. I did find out that the audio jack on the PBCs do not work at least on my 3 that I purchased. It ends up messing up the video out. The Jamma connector sound works just fine though. Also this may be a jamma game but does require some modifications to work or thr purchase a jamma adapter for a mulit board.

Overall not bad for the price, but could be better. I have a few extras if you want to buy one.

Again thanks for the help guys! Jake, I sent you a pm. Anyone else has this multigame board they want to comment on? Hmmm. I wonder how off the sound is based on Jake's review... I don't remember my mame games having audio issues..... for me, it was the corrupted files that wouldn't allow me to run some games and glitches.... but based on what others said, it was probably my crappy Xbox hardware....afterall, I did hack my Xbox when mame just came out.
Anymore comments will be appreciated.
Btw does anyone know what Jake is talking about in terms of this board not hooking up to a jamma harness? If you take a look at the link I posted, it says it can hook up to a jamma setup.... anyone know what issue Jake is talking about?
