Several games in my stable started out just like this, neat to have but I thought they didn't have the gameplay to back them up. The more I played them, and watched guests play them, the better they got, now they are all keepers:
Star Castle: I was sitting on a bunch of spare Cinematronics parts from my Armor Attack build. One of my purchases during that build was an untested Star Castle PCB set that ended up working. I planned on swapping both games into the Armor Attack cab, but this came up locally and I gave it a home. After fixing it up and adding it to the gameroom, it gets a lot of play from guests and I've warmed up to it too.
Night Driver sitdown: Got it when I wanted a driving game, any driving game. I thought the fiberglass cab was very neat. After a year of getting the electronics up to snuff, I found the simple game was very addicting, and so have my guests; even the neighborhood kids that saw me working in my garage gave it a chance and really liked it.
Xybots: I got it along with Centipede, it was my second game. I thought it looked like a really old PC game at first, but I eventually appreciated the distinctive cab design, the pioneering controls, and the excellent 2 player co-op gameplay. I sank too much time and money into fixing this beater of a cab, so I can't get rid of it anyhow. The Sharp XM-2001 was the first monitor I ever capped, if I could make it through that when I was starting out I figured had hope of overcoming other difficult electronics work.
