It would help my lineup tremendously if I could place a game or pin in front of a window in my garage. My concern? I'm afraid it looks a little ghetto from the outside. It's just a side window in the garage, and we don't live in a million dollar community either. I was just curious to hear everyone's take on whether or not this should be done.

If anything, it would help block out more light!

Get some cheap blinds at <largeboxstore> and then put the game in front of the window. Keep the blinds closed all the time so you don't fade the art.

I'm with Sean. It would look kinda ghetto.

I completely covered the window in my arcade with a huge mirror with plywood backing. But from outside, all anyone sees are miniblinds. ;) (With a layer of black 'yard plastic' inbetween the two, for safe measure...)

Yeah, just use blinds. It'll probably look much more ghetto INSIDE than outside like that, so like said above you should cover up the window inside too.

I used a set of blinds, then drywall over... but then the blinds melted from the hot pocket of sunlight. Took the blinds out, and just left up the white drywall. :)

Blinds would be the best way to go and also it would help not letting people see whats in your garage theres alot thieves out there.About a year ago in my area a guy working for the gas company he was meter reader and when he went around peoples houses to read the meter he would also be scoping out what people had in their garages and later on he would send out his buddies to steal the stuff

Thanks all for the ideas. They are all great, and I'm glad my scenario is not unique.

I wish I'd asked earlier today, I could have had it all done already! :(

I think that would also help keep some of the cold out during the Winter. I did just remember one thing though: we use a portable AC out there in the Summer, and that's where it's vented to. I guess I could cut a section out of the plywood for doing that in the Summer.

It's the North wall of the house, so thankfully the sun never hits that window directly. You guys have me on a new mission, thanks!

In the summer you will have too worry about Sun Light beating on your glass melting things.

I put a dark Towel over my window too stop the sun light from coming in.

clear away everything from the window. go outside and take a picture of just the window. upload photo to your favorite photo developer (i like artscow.com) get a poster sized print and mount the poster on the inside of the window . that way if passers by look in the window, they will see (a pic) the inside of your garage.

I don't. I don't even care about what the neighbors are seeing, I don't like the way it looks from the inside.

This predicament was averted in my gameroom by ripping out 8 windows.

EDIT: Just saw you meant in the garage. Garage windows don't count! :D

I put a black trash bag over one of mine. The other I limo tinted. I may go back and tint the other one.

I don't have windows in my garage, so thankfully that is not an issue. If I did, I would get a dark window tint film from HD and then put blinds inside. If the blinds are solid enough, then nobody will know you have video games in your garage (and that you play them in the nude...)

This sprayed on the window from the inside will look presentable on the outside( if you care) and ok on the inside if you mask, or just spray away if you dont care.

black or silver metallic are my favorite gheto window blocking colors.

I'd get some of those old Pac Man sheets/fabric and make a wall of it to kind of eliminate the awkwardness from within entirely. Outside, looks like draperies. Inside... what window? ;) Just my .25.
