Games For Sale Make Offer Las Vegas

outch dude that sucks.
Try airport rental places a lil higher but almost NEVER any mileage restrictions etc..
I haven't gotten my tranny serviced else I would throw my hat in the ring.
Ok, so the truck I was hoping to borrow is a no go since the owner doesn't think it would do well in the desert after 197k miles. So, after looking into boxtrucks, and seeing that all the companies that rent them charge at least 59c per mile, and calculating that out to almost $400 before gas costs, I've decided to borrow a pickup and rent a trailer. If I cant borrow a pickup from one of a few friends I have with them, I can rent one. At least pickups shouldn't have a per mile charge.

Ok, so I have an update. Apparently, enterprise will charge 20c per mile for a pickup with a hitch. So, screw that. I am scheduled to have a hitch installed on my hatchback on friday. So, I'll get my hitch put in, and take my car up to vegas, pick up a trailer, and then pick up the games. Picking up the trailer in vegas will save me on gas as well as wear on my car. If you want to come along, Krusher, you're more than welcome, especially if you can drive manual ;)

Dave,
mebbe we got to think this thru some more? Howard Lager jst got back from Vegas and he said the temperature there is something ridiculous now to the tune of 118 degrees. Dunno if that'd be good for your car to haul in that heat, especially since the route is pretty steep inclinewise..Can your car haul that much weight up a hill in hell? Also dunno if that heat and direct sunlight, might mess up the games either cosmetically or electronically? Could plastics melt or warp? Mebbe we oughta wait until it cools down out there abit (as long as it's cool with Brent) to do the pickup? Prob be better for our games and mebbe another hauling option may come along
or else transport at night, lol.

I highly doubt that the cabs would be harmed, but I planned to cover them with blankets for protection from the wind/debris anyways. If the enclosed trailers are tall enough to fit cabs in, I will rent one of them. The price difference between enclosed and open, is pretty negligible, so once I get the measurements and address from Brent, I'll reserve the trailer that best fits the cabs. My car should be fine for the travel. I'll be driving pretty lightly with the cabs in tow, so the heat shouldn't be a problem. Also, if there is a problem, it's covered under the factory warranty :p. Forecast says 102 for saturday.

Well..

Well as of now I will not commit to anything, as of today, Ive been a space brain, I was up all night helping someone move a warehouse, and then a call at 10 - 11 ish this morning..

I would love to not have all this going on and be able to say yes for sure. but I honestly cant at the moment.

Did you guys end up driving out to pick up the cabs?

I was able to pick up my cab and fatherpain's cab. The rental companies really were unhelpful, and it was obvious that they just wanted to make a quick buck without having to do anything. If I had rented a truck, it would have cost about the same as shipping the cabs before gas was even calculated into the equation. Also, uhaul will not let you rent an open topped trailer to go across state lines. You have to get an enclosed one for crossing borders, and they are all too short to stand a cab up in. I have since decided that my next car will be a truck. I'm tired of this BS.
