Welp, I ordered my carpet from Capri carpet in Dalton, ga today. It is the pattern called "Starry Night". Anybody have that? Do you like it? Now, for my question. Where is the best place to get black light and how did you calculate enough lighting for your available area?

Thanks,
Tracy

Do you want overhead blacklighting??? Or just random fixtures about the room? 12-16 inch fixtures are about $10-$15 a piece at Home Depot, Lowes, Walmart, ETC.

That's a good question. I don't really know. I just want to make sure that the room is flooded in BL. It's not a big room. I only have a bedroom to use. It will have 10 to 12 games.

I already had 8 double bulb fixtures (I added 6 others after the fact on a separate switch for white light), so I've got 16 bulbs total. That's for a roughly 640 sq ft rectangular room. Seems very adequate to me, but I still need to get the carpet.

BTW, for a smaller space that guy sells in lower quantities, like 6. Not quite as good of a deal but still probably better than other places I think.

I'm gonna have about 1/3 of that area. I tried to get a larger room but the wife put her foot down. I'm lucky to have what I have she says. With that said, I can't keep her off of the games. That is why I will have at least one MAME cab.

If you get good coverage with that amount of light, I should be good with 4 double fixtures I would think.

I think it all depends on how much lighting you have in the room. I know when I had 5 cabs I was fine with 3 25W compact florescent bulbs in the room. But as I gained more games (now numbering 17, with the lighting from the marquees and monitors) the black light effect went away. I then added 2 four foot shoplight fixtures with tubes I got from Home Depot and I have tons of black light effect. My only problem is the tubes don't last nearly as long as they say they will. I get maybe 6months to a year out of them even though they say they are good for several years.
