Been playing a bunch of classics for the past few days, and racking up some decent scores. (or maybe not compared to you guys) Then I realized that I need a score board to keep track of all my game scores (mine & outside challengers) Also something nice to add for looks as well.

Wanted to get some ideas on what type of score boards y'all got in your gamerooms. Trying to get an idea of what to get for mine. So if you could, post some pics and perhaps where you got them from.

I would like to have a board that can list a bunch of games (over 20-30), and have some vintage artwork as well.

Also if you want to make this thread more interesting. Another reason to post up your score boards, is see how well you tie in with other KLOV players.

I have a Commodore 64 running my complete high score board. It rotates through about 6 screens of scores and is hooked up to a small TV that I paid $5 for at a garage sale.

That sounds cool.
Code:
LOAD "HIGHSCRS",8
LOADING...
READY.
RUN

Great idea!! Can we see some pics or video of it in action?

Gotta show it off now! I was considering doing it with an old Apple IIc I have on the shelf but I need a projector or something to make it worthwhile.

We've touched on this topic several times. Here's just one of the threads from the last year:

Just search for menu boards or high score boards and you will see a ton more.

Thanks for the link. I was just thinking to myself; "All of the arcade/game player collectors on KLOV and only 2 people have a scoreboard?" LOL I was tired when I made this thread, and when I tried to search I came up with nothing. FAIL lol

C64 High Score Board

Here you go:

I shot this real quick with my phone. I made a simple BASIC program to display the information. My first computer was a VIC-20, so I had plenty of experience with programming! One thing I did not record was the screen with a big, blocky words that say:
HIGH
SCORE
My main games I have still have listed on my Coke menu board, but since I have a 96-in-1 Pac and other multi games, the C64 is a good way to display them all.

That is cool, but I lost my C64 in a flood a few years back. Sucks because I loved the C64 and it was my actual first PC.

That is a fantastic idea! My Commodore 64 and Datasette drive still work fine (that's more than I can say for my C64 1541 Floppy) and I would love to try this out.

How do you input the scores? Do you literally have them typed out as print statements that you just modify in the code when the score needs updated, or do you type them all in as variables when you load the program? Would you mind sharing your code? :)

BTB, here's mine currently:

It wouldn't be TOO hard to update High Score "images", save to SD memory and then run in a loop in a digital picture frame...

Hmmm...
