Ok just recieved my Gameroom magazine ceasing publication notice card today in the mail with a code for a free copy of the Gameroom 20th anniversary collection (a $99 dollar value) Well, after a half hour downloading the files it didn't work at all? Did anyone experience this when they used the code? all it says is Extracting files but nothing? This was just a way for Gameroom magazine to compensate for people who had subscriptions.Just wondering if anyone had problems downloading the large file.

I got my code and downloaded the file but it crashes my computer when I try to view it. Anyone able to view this on a Mac? What did you use to open it?

I left my computer up all night downloading the 2.3GB .exe file. I clicked on it this morning and told it to run. A black window popped up for all of 1 second and then...nothing. I'm trying to download again to see if I missed part of the file or something. Only 3.5 hours left! Sheesh!

I can't even get that far. After putting in the code it goes to a blank page and just keeps running. That's in Firefox. In Safari it doesn't even do anything once I click on the submit button.

Hopefully it gets resolved soon. I was looking forward to reading some of the back issues this weekend.

Maybe the web host is a little overwhelmed with downloads? Mine downloaded just fine last night and I had no problem accessing the pdf's. As for using a Mac, it's a Windows executable so you might be out of luck, but it's a 7-zip self-extracting archive so assuming there's a 7-zip app for Mac, I would guess you could open it from within 7-zip.

Maybe closer inspection will get me more excited about this, but just leafing through the covers over the years gives me the impression that video games were mostly ignored over the vast majority of those 20 years. As a result I'm not impressed in terms of how it relates to what interests me. I wish I could download 2009 and 2010 though just to have a complete set.

I emailed Kevin and he hooked me up with a zip that has the PDF files. Very cool.

Trying to get my code to work as well.

First if I'm logged in I can't download it. Says I'm not the correct subscriber.

If I log out it works. sort of.

The most I've got downloaded before it failed is 149meg.

It lets me keep on trying so I'll keep going till I get one that works for all 2.3g.

Maybe I should get the zip instead as I run Linux...

2.33Gigs is a HUGE download to do over HTTP protocols. Some ISPs might throttle or kill the download if their servers are straining (which they most likely will).Hopefully they were smart and used a service like Amazon S3 or something. Just did a video delivery store via S3 and we still had problems with the large files with some customers ISPs. I guess it is what it is. I'm downloading mine now without logging in. Worked fine, at 291 megs currently. Going to open the file via a virtual machine on my mac.

Whoa this Sucks, I just renewed a month ago or something.
Also haven't received any codes.

Why not do an online magazine, I get 3-4 monthly online magazines.

I agree 100% or maybe every other month whould work i'm sad the magazine is gone it was great! I just got an Email from Kevin and recieved a zip file and I will see if that works (Thanks Kevin!) He said the servers are getting Hammered right now and downloads are getting cut off prematurely The full download size is 2.3GB and if it's less then 2.3GB it's probably incomplete download hope this information helps he just emailed me back!

Should've broke the zip up into 5-10 parts.

Is anyone NOT going to use their code? I travel quite a bit and would really like to have old issues in PDF form. I bought several digital issues a few months ago after I let my print subscription expire and was quite happy with them but it doesn't appear these are available to purcase any more. Anyone? Please PM me if you have a code you won't use and what you would like for it.
