Ok here are 3 options so far. Do not worry about game titles and what is placed next to what. I am looking for a general layout that will work. 5 Pins are a must, air hockey is a must, and the change machine is a must. Other than that if I need to take a vid or 2 out I will. It will get booted upstairs to Kudzu Arcade.

Edit: Sorry pics are not loading correctly. will need to fix after work, damn library.

Having the air hockey table in the corner (or anywhere along the wall for that matter) ends up with a layout where the room appears to be (over)packed. I would rule out 1 and any such option accordingly. I like 2 better than 3 because it leaves you with the impression of more open space and a less crammed room. I'd go with 2.

I'd go with option 2. Whatever makes it easiest to get the pinball glass off with the least hassle will make you happiest.

I was liking #2 now as well. Plus I forgot about leaving room for taking the glass off. Had to do that twice when playing The Shadow last night.

I'd go with #3 and here's why. People shift around, back up and move around while playing an arcade or pinball game. In the first two layouts you have some machines that would have people playing back to back with each other. One person steps a foot or two too far, and they essentially back into the other person. Layout #3 alleviates that from happening.

I like number three with the air hockey put into the room to the right against the wall where the 4 or 5 vids are. Move the Vids all into the other room that were against that wall, mock up that see how it looks.

That was our orginal option, but the table is 4' x 8' and that "hallway" is only 6' wide. It would be too tight for the space so we nixed it.

Some thoughts

I think the second pic looks the best so far. But Here is what I would suggest. First, if that is a nook on the lower left wall, will the sit down fit in there without obstructing the coin door. If not, what about 1 pin. Second, could the pins or air hockey fit in lower front wall nook with the window. Next, is it a window or fuse box on the upper left wall. If its a fusebox, you might think about putting the cocktail there so you can get to the fuse box. Does this room have any metal support poles. It kind of looks like a basement. If it does, are your familiar with a game swastika. Sorry but that's the closest description and it can net you a couple feet if done properly. As a general rule, i would try to keep all my machines with their back to your surrounding walls. Either the pins or table should go in that lower nook. And if you need more space, go with one or 2 games swastikas. But if I had to pick one of your designs its between 2 and 3 but I am leaning towards 2. Hope that helps.

Remember that a flying puck from the air hockey table can break glass. Don't know how rough you play, but anytime I'm playing air hockey with friends we will almost always fling at least one puck, so I have buried the table behind games, still easy to get to, but the worst damage possible is a dented back door. Just my 2 cents.
