I freaking hate the garage door in my garage arcade. It's a big waste of visual space, yet I can't cover it with anything because I still have to use it for my wife's car. So to help make use of the space, I grabbed a few more re-apply decals from WhatisBlik.com. They're the same people I ordered my Space Invaders wall graphics from. This time, I went the Centipede route. I am still very pleased with the quality of these little things. Even with my garage door facing the afternoon sun, these things don't fall off from the heat. Helps me add the ambience to the game room when her car pulls out. Check the pic:

The Centipede set sells for $45 and comes with a few more decals than what you see (including a 24" decal of the marquee and the instruction bezel). Another new one they have is the Asteroids set. I would have liked to go with Donkey Kong arts for the garage door, but they were $65! And to make it look like the game screen you'd need to buy 3 sets! Ouch.

Cool! I might have to do something like that when I move my games out to the garage. That really livens up that portion of blank space.

Paint it black. Any annoying door or wall looks cool painted black. Centipede decals would probably look cooler on black, too!

I was totally thinking the same thing to help them pop out, but I was worried that paint on the Alumminum garage door would have troubles? Perhaps?

Oh and yes, it is a vertical game, I just didn't have a tall enough wall. ;)

You can also go to Home Debit or Blowe's and pick up styrofoam insulation panels that pop into the aluminum garage doors. They have a kind of vinyl panel on them which makes it easy to do things with them.

Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice - I love this! Very cool.

Quibbles: ditch the flea (Millipede, and too high up) and the Atari logo. If it were me. ;)

If it's painted aluminum and not high gloss it will stick fine. My (recently new) exterior garage door was painted to match the house and it's on there super tight. I was concerned about needing a primer but it took paint very well.

This is awesome! And on the paint note, I would suggest Krylon Fusion... it's used on plastics and textured surfaces a lot, it goes on light with a spray can and doesn't clump up. It just sort of... fuses with the surface. Although I'd do a smaller test first, one of the very limited colors it comes in is black, so it's certainly worth a look.
