Has anyone dealt with these guy? They are just outside Grand Rapids,MI. right by the whitecaps stadium. They sell a lot of stuff on ebay, lots of parts, and looks like they have a nice store. I know most of there stuff is pricy, full retail, but there parts seem to be priced right around everywhere I have looked. I am just thinking they might be a good place for parts that I can go and pick up when ever I need them. Thet even have free shipping on everything, so maybe there game prices are not so bad if you have it shipped. I have been thinking about taking a drive there and looking around and thought I would ask if anyone has been there or dealt with them. There web site is www.gameroomguys.com

I live pretty close to them and have been in there a few times over the years. I've had a couple minor problems with them in the past such as telling me they have something in stock and I get there and they don't. Most of the staff that I have dealt with hasn't been very knowledgeable, at least in regards to pins. Their prices on machines and parts are high which isn't a surprise since they are a retail shop. From what they told me they do a majority of their business on ebay.

They do have a few games on locations around GR but it seems whenever I come across one (especially pins) they are not in good working condition. They rotated a couple of pins in a bowling alley right by my house (a LW3 and then later a T2) but both of them had issues, to the point where they were not playable (no working GI, weak flippers, no sound, etc). I did email them about these issues but the next time I went back the T2 was gone and there was no pin in it's place.

I use them once in awhile if I need a part that day for a machine on location and they actually have it in stock. Otherwise I use my various online sources for parts.

I've worked on a few games they've 'fixed' and found the repairs poor. One case the owner was told X amount of dollars to fix it, they decided not to fix the game. I purchased the game from them and found the game boards missing.

I have only purchased a couple times from them. But when I did, they went out of there way to help me out with questions. One guy even called me back after finding out what I needed. Most people would just keep you on the line, letting your ear sweat. So ya, the prices are not rock bottom but as far as what they did for me.... customer service was great and free shipping takes the sting out of the price. I guess if you look at the price with free shipping, they are cheaper than other places like Macro.
Example:
Gameroom Guys rubber kit for Checkpoint = $18.43 shipped
Macro Specialties rubber kit for Checkpoint = $17.95 + $9.66 (usps) = $27.61.

Wow, I guess the price is cheaper.

I was thinking it might be a little cheeper for me to a get parts from them and not have to pay shipping. I guess the big saving on the free shipping would be if you buy a full game or pin. I guess if I need something and decied to go there I will make sure I know what I want and not reliy on the for a lot of help.

Ok, I've got to throw in here...

I bought my Tron LE from them - Doug - and had a great transaction with him. He stayed in touch when I was getting nervous about having so much money on the line for a NIB Tron LE game and no game in house.

They took care of me, I rec'd my game with they said I would and followed up after the sale to see if I was happy with the shipping and the game itself.

I would not hesitate to buy a game from them in the future.

Not sure on the path you were on with this post. You talk about only saving money on big purchases, but I just proved that Mocro is almost $10 more for a rubber kit when you add in the shipping. Gameroom guys will save you money on the small orders because who wants to spend $10 shipping on a $7 part?

ive ordered parts from them many times and they will tell you how to put them in and be really freindly...parts are nicely priced!
i havent had them service anything i couldnt figure out yet...
i ask or pay friends for that lol

I bought 3 pop bumper caps for a pin on ebay using the BIN and I got them in 2 days. I have no issues buying from them if they have an item I'm looking for at a price I don't mind paying.
