I will let the pictures speak for themselves as the general policy is "pics or it didn't happen." :)

Here are some more. The guys are on day 5 right now. As you can see, the basement is a complete mess. Last week, they installed the egress windows for the two bedrooms. This morning, they removed a support beam and started framing up the walls. Right now, some of the games are not accesible for play and my parts and ect are scattered. There used to be a bathroom but now its a toilet and a sink with no walls.

This was my basement a few months ago! Looking good! You'll be so happy when you're finally done playing games. No more dingy basement look!

The guys are done for today. The plumber came by and capped off some of the pipes so that they construction guys can put in the stairway. Unfortunately, that cuts off the water supply to the washing machine.

I have no idea. I would have to ask the electrician. I know that he is putting in outlets for the games but I don't know how many yet or how they will be tied in or what current rating.

I finished my entire basement with my dad...before getting into this gaming thing. We had all of my electrical outlets in the main room on one 15 amp circuit...which is fine if you aren't running games. I ended up doing some crazy re-wiring and cutting holes in my wall to get one 20 amp outlet for 5 of my games, and the other 5 run off the 15 amp circuit. If I could do it again, I would get at least three 20 amp outlets on separate circuits. I may cost you an extra $50-75 now, but will be well worth it. Just something to think about...especially if you're going to be running dehumidifiers down there (I have 3).

We have stairs!!!! (Tom Hanks - The Money Pit.)

Woohoo!!!!! They got put in today. They start in the laundry room where the dryer used to be (you can see the vent hole in the floor). One side will have a bedroom wall and the other will have the bathroom wall (once there is a bathroom).

No, the floor joists have not been cut back all the way and I did not want to split my head open :)

I like how the toilet is out in the open, kinda like in a prison cell.

Really, nice to see the remodel. I'm jealous..

I have been to dozens of old farm houses with what would seem to be a randomly placed toilet in the basement.

The ugly walls that were there are gone. When everything is done, there will be a normal half bath with sink. The wall will also enclose the water heater and circuit breaker panel in their own little room with their own door. The most difficult part is for the wife and kids as they are home while all the chaos is going on. I only get the occasional phone call and seeing the progress when I come home as the guys are gone when I get there. The plumber should be here this morning to reconnect some pipes so that I can use my washer again. Its only been since Wednesday, but the laundry is really piling up.
