Anyone use it?

I just signed up yesterday, and am looking forward to it. With the invite from one of my buddies, I got the 1st 2 months free and the remainder of my deal will be 2 games out @ $20/month. Their trade in/store looks pretty cool too.

We'll see how it works out.

I had it for 6 months (a gift subscription given to me). It's great if you play through your games quickly, and turn them back around. If you have one game out for 3 months trying to beat it, then you're not really getting that much out of it.

I've bought 2 games from their used store (I think every 3 months you're a memeber you get a $5 coupon... or something like that). One was perfectly fine (Mass Effect) the other was a bit scratched (Table Tennis). I never traded in any games to them.

Guy I work with has been a member for quite a while. He really likes their service and has bought the game he rented from them. He plays lots of games.

See, I think it will be perfect. Ive decided to take a break from online gaming so that I can actually play my games. I was laughing the other day looking at my console of games.

X360:

COD4 - never played the campaign
MW2 - played 2 levels of the campaign
BC2 - never played the campaign
ODST - never played the campaign
Halo Wars - never played the game

Wii:

SMG - Finished
Zelda - Finished
Super Paper Mario - Finished
Punch-Out - Finished
Mario Kart - Finished
NSMB - Finished

See a trend here? Nintendo doesn't offer online play (save for Mario Kart) and I actually played and finished those games. My X360 games are all played online with a group of buddies. I'm wasting my money. Gamefly will cause me to actually play these things, and turn them around. I'm stoked on that idea.

I've had it for about a year. Most months they get more outta me than I get outta them. Meaning... we get a couple of games and we play them for a long time so it may have been better to buy them. That said, if you have multiple systems that you play, and you have gamer's ADD (instead of getting really into a single game) then it's a good deal. I have also used the aforementioned discount coupons and purchased games from them outright. Takes me about 5 days to turn around a game... from the time I drop one in the mail until the next one in my queue gets to me. I am in Minneapolis and I receive from Pittsburgh (iirc)

You have never played the campaign on these two?!? You need to get crackin on that. Make sure you play through COD4 first. The campaign on these games is honestly probably the best of any games that I have ever played. Yes, they are well known for the online play, but they didn't skimp in the campaign. I have played through both at least twice. Even if you just play it on an easy setting just to get the feel of all of it. Great story. Great action.

Yeah man, I haven't played the campaign on either. I buy them, and play online with my buddies. Sad, and a waste of $$$.

I hate gamefly but unfortunately have been a member since april of 08 and all was good for a few months and then they suddenly started sending me the games I really did not want that were at the bottom of my que. Fast forward to today. I am still not getting any of the games from my top ten. Phone support is horrible and shipping turn around time is slow. They will notify me that the game was recieved and then two days later I get another email stating the game has shipped. Two days??? I live in Maryland and my hub is in PA. I can drive to pittsburgh in 3 hrs instead of waiting 3 days for my game to show up. I will say though, they have saved me a ton of cash since I usually finish each game within a week, so that $60 game just cost me $15.99 and thats if I only get that one game for the month. On average I get 3 games per month from them. Thats $180 worth of games for one month if I were to buy outright. Not to mention the fact that if I had bought my games from Gamestop for $60, a week later they would offer me half that if not less towards a trade in. They are the reason why I went to GF and have not purchased a game at full price since 2008.

Allot of people don't care for them and have the same complaints that I do.

Great for ripping Wii game to HD then sending back the next day!

Build up your collection fast then cancel.

+1 on the wii thing!

I like it for sports games, after like 12 years of buying the same games every year, its a nice alternative. Madden, 2k's, etc. Once the new one comes out you send the old one back. I do have a 4 game plan so I can keep a few for awhile and still rotate the other ones.

My only gripe is the availability, it has been pretty bad for newer releases lately.
