It really can't be any other way. Both names are really just derivatives of the words 'Gyroscope' and 'Galaxy' respectively. I feel sorry for anybody arguing for any other pronunciations, as they have probably been labeled 'fucking morons' on more than one occasion.

They are actually different critters. "Possum" is incorrect if one is intending to refer to the animal native to North America...
