Speaking of the latest noice thread featuring virsus...
That reminds me that I always pronounced the Nintendo VS arcade games as Nintendo Versus, not VS!

You wouldn't say Nintendo VS Capcom, it would be Nintendo Versus Capcom.

So, that means this is Nintendo versus Excitebike.

I dropped the .VS / Versus on all those games. So it was always just Excitebike for me.

Galaga is my favorite

Is it

Guh lah guh

Gal lay guh

Gal luh guh

etc.

I pronounce "versus."
And I contend it's GAL-uh-guh (not guh-LAG-uh).

Qix = Quicks or kicks?
Rally X = ecks or ten (Roman numeral)?
Robotron 2084 = twenty eighty-four, or two-thousand eighty-four, or two-zero-eight-four?

And Wizard of Wor... so commonly pronounced "war", even the KLOV top 100 lists it as such: http://www.arcade-museum.com/TOP100.php

Oh, and I'm not even sure how to try pronouncing "Pleiads"...

Saying it is one thing....f'n trying to remember how to spell it properly is another. I never can remember how its spelled w/o looking it up.

I think its plee-ads, but it could also be play-tees

Well spelling depends on if you are looking at the marquee:
