Thanks for the implied issue, ive used stencils before, this was a paint issue. Valspar top coat over Rustoleum primer.

they are membrane thin which can be frustrating.
the second experience i rolled them onto game like doing vinyl.
taking them off while paint is still wet seems easiest

That's Prok's business I think.

What did he say when you contacted him about this?

I'd guess 99% chance of user error.

remove while paint is wet, same as all other stencils i have ever used, what do you expect will happen if you allow the paint to fully dry/cure before you remove them?

I can tell by the way the stencil was applied that you have no idea what your doing. Nothing wrong with stencils.

I have never used stencils, for a few reasons: One because it looks like a royal pain in the ass. Two, because my games are all crammed together and no ever sees the sides. Three, stencils are expensive and a one time use only deal.

That being said, is your main issue the adhesive on the stencil peeling the black paint from the cabinet?

My uninformed opinion would probably blame that on poor surface prep for the black paint, and/or still not a long enough paint curing time before applying the stencil. I suppose the stencils could have too tacky of an adhesive as well. Kinda like how blue tape will pull away, but duct tape will destroy your shit.

Easy there, big fella! Gamestencils is owned/run by a respected member here (Brian/Prok) and it just doesn't look good for someone with 6 posts to trash his product, especially when you've provided no details. What type of paint did you use, how did you prepare the surface, how long did you have the stencils before you used them, etc. I realize you said you've used stencils before, but without all the details I'm afraid I'd give the benefit of the doubt to Gamestencils. Just sayin'

Wile I have never done stencils on a game I have masked off painted areas with tape to paint a line between two colors. I might be wrong but looking at the pictures it looks like the base color painted on the cabinet is peeling off with the stencil. If that's the case then the paint didn't adhere to the cabinet. Did you use primer before the base coat? What type of paint did you use? Did you sand and clean between coats? Something definitely went wrong their.

So much for my self imposed hiatus from klov, and sadly for the very reason I opted to take a break.

Long story short, this is clearly a paint prep problem. From the looks of it, there are two colors of brown with one separating from the other. My quick visual guess is that the second brown color is the original joust brown which would indicate there is no primer or prep done. I could be wrong, but that's how it looks to me. Either way, one layer of paint separating from another is a sign of things not being right at the paint level. Also, stencil material is not standard print vinyl, it's designed to tear. When removing large or complex stencils it's quite normal to pull an area and tear it off and then pull another and tear that off.

I received an email moments ago with me on full blast. I promise you Eric, the problem here is not with the stencils and had you simply asked for a hand or advice or replacement parts for free i'd have happily obliged as i've done dozens of times over the years. Not everyone gets it right the first time and I try to help people get there. However, posts like this and the tone of the email you sent me are not likely to get a smile and offer of help from me.

Sometimes just be willing to admit you perhaps made a mistake and need a hand. It will always work better than blaming others and writing nasty things.

Game Stencils.com - stencils suck

Just frustrating, the stencil was put on right and it pulled the paint right off. It tore when it was put on, slowly pulling the cover paper off

Sanded, primed, coated. Not my first rodeo on a cabinet

And yet Prok likely has forgotten more than you'll ever know on the subject. Why not slow down and ask some questions instead of coming in guns blazing?
