Well I had my 2nd game run of the year. I knew it was going to be a good day when I stopped at the rest stop, and the pop machine dispensed 3 Dr Peppers, for the price of one!!:) 400 miles R/T for this Paperboy and Asteroids Cabaret. The paperboy is working, might have to cap montor. The Asteroids does not work and is in sad shape, but since Asteroids is my favorite arcade, I will try to bring her back. I will post more after I get back from lunch, its interesting where these came from.

I have never seen an Asteroids Cabaret before! That is wild! It's like the "Tattoo" Asteroids.

It could also double as a place to put your recyclables! :D

Very cool score.

Those handlebars need a rebuild :) You have one of the greatest arcade games ever with that PB. Nice work.

PB

Hey, Is there 2 bolts in the front panel that hold the control panel down? My Paperboy and Championship sprint have them but the Paperboy I got last week does not. Yours also does not seem to have them but it is hard to tell from the pic.

Nice pick up by the way.

I almost thought you got a Paperboy Cabaret with that title. I freaked for a second. Nice pickup! That Asteroids is cute, to say the least, haha.

Ok the paperboy sides were painted blue, not sure whats under that paint yet. All of the sellers machines came from a Auction, and were in storage. Paperboy has a tax sticker from 2003 on it. Does anyone from Texas remember this Paperboy?? The seller said it worked but would not coin up. I think the mechs might be for tokens. I can open the door and coin it up just fine.

I will have to take a look for the bolts. and see how its attached.

Woo hoo - Asteroids cabaret!

I either want one of those or a Tempest cabaret to complete my collection. Nice find! Restore that sucker.

Nice pickup!! Alot of those Texas games were actually bought and cargo containered out here by a guy named David. Through the years he has sold off most of the "junk" and most of the junk was still pretty nice... I know that hundreds and hundreds of machines from Texas were shipped up here, good chance that was one of those games. The guy still has maybe a hundred or more arcades left but he's still stuck on prices from 5-10 years ago.

you think this is more of the David Shoemaker stuff? i thought his container came from NC, but heck i'll admit my knowledge is spotty and my memory worse.

LOL, now I'm not sure! I remember Texas being in the picture, but maybe it wasn't David... There were a bunch of cabinets that had white marquees with blue lettering with the generic name of the company who operated the machines. Some music company type name. Damn, my memory is super shitty too bud! I do remember hearing of a huge haul coming out of Texas and seeing random Texas tax stickers on machines through the years that were linked back to the same big lot.

The guy who helped me was named Dave. But he told me the owner had millions, some fat cat realtor his name was Bill??? It still might be from the same load? I talked to him again today about the machine we talked about last night. He has pulled his add. Someone is coming tomorrow to look at buying the whole lot. If that falls thru he will get back to me. Im glad I went yesterday:D
