well, the project is in full swing. The canned lights are in, the wall is closed off from the upstairs kitchen and work has begun to put 3 new circuits along the walls....My room looks like swiss cheese :(

Tomorrow the drywall/painter is coming over give me an estimate on what it is going to take to clean up this mess. counted 5 holes that need patched in the ceiling, and 10 or so that will need to be done along various walls. Electric should be complete by Tuesday at the very latest....

I am really stressing out about all these holes in walls...

Looks like it will be a nice space when you're done!

Were the holes to add the electric??? Seems excessive to me, but I am not an electritian.

the long cut was so he can get pipe into a long wall, he is also moving the existing outlet to a different location on that wall so the outlets are uniform across the wall. He is putting 3 new circuits into the room, one for each wall that will have games on them (3). Wire needs to be stored in pipe inside the wall im guessing to keep fires to a minimum. The room is a below ground room and there is some foundation stuff that he is running into as well. I didn't think it was going to be this bad when he started, apparently neither did he...

Not feeling good right now

Step 1 - Just relax. It's not like the space is trasked, and you have someone coming in to fix it. Sounds like they needed to do that to get the electric done, and you want that done safely and correctly.

You'll get there, and you will be glad when you do. You will have a great space that you will enjoy!

Can't wait to see more pictures :)

new pictures!

Drywall guy started on the room today....some pictures for your viewing pleasure this room looked like it got in a fight with a honey badger. I also picked up my first Pin today a minty HUO Lost in space. The room should be finished by the end of the week, I'll be able to go pickup the pin next sunday...I am so excited right now!!!!

Very nice! The ceiling outlets are a GREAT idea! Wish we had done that. Great for neon signs and stuff like that. The ONLY thing I would change (and this is very minor) is to get dimmers on the can lights. The space is very well done!

Great Start!

You have a really great start in your room and a clean slate to really make your room exactly how you want! Great Ideas to add the extra outlets for games and lighting!

Adding more games one at a time is how great game rooms are usually made because sometimes people buy a lot of games at once and then realize they don't play them all and have to sell them to find games that are more fun for everyone.

Neon Signs and Lights are awesome additions and adding a Personalized Game Room Sign with your name, year established would be a nice addition too.
