First, I'd like to say thanks to Rusty Key, Ken, John (and I can't remember all the names, sorry!!!) for hosting the Swap Shop at The Game Preserve in Spring, Texas yesterday. I had a chance to meet some people and finally put faces to the goofy names. Good times!
I went to pick up my Centipede cabaret, but while there, had a relapse, and bought a Carnevil.
The Centipede Cabaret is in good cosmetic condition (probably a B+), works great, and the monitor looks awesome. The seller had just capped it and put in a new flyback; looks great! The only negatives would be a little water absorption and crumbling along the bottom inch or so of the cabinet, and cracking of the original CPO along the bend. I'm very happy with it!
The CarnEvil jumped out and grabbed me. I had no intentions of buying it, nor do I have room for it. The price was good. It's in good condition; also a B+. It doesn't have the original shotguns (no big deal), and the monitor looked like hell; washed out white. I got it home, opened it up, cranked the flyback down and tweaked the color drive/cutoffs, and got the monitor looking pretty good. Needs a cap it. Also, the guy had said he had it for 10 years and was still opening the coin door and pressing the credit switch. I changed a dip switch and put it in freeplay.
It was a good day.
