My understanding is Pacman actually started as "Puckman", but they changed it shortly there after when they saw how determined people were to vandalize the P to look like an F on the cab's artwork.

It's actually a pretty good game if I remember it correctly from MAME, but I don't think I'd want credit for owning an actual cab.

According to the Namco marquees, the Japanese pronunciation of Puckman would be along the lines of "PAH-KU-MAHN" (パックマン) and Galaga would be "GHEEYAH-RAH-GAH" (ギャラガ).

You know, when people ask me what games I own I always pause when I come to Bubble Bobble. People who don't know the game think it's a game for children or something. Great game, but not exactly the macho-est of names.

Why couldn't they have just called it Tango and Cash, since it's modeled after them anyway??!! Cheap suckers (didn't want to pay for licensing)!
