game names you are hesitant to say..

Zzyzx from Wikipedia.

The name Zzyzx was given to the area in 1944 by Curtis Howe Springer, claiming it to be the last word in the English language. Springer made up the word's pronunciation "zi-zix".

Following that logic, Zzyzzyxx would be pronounced Brix (the name given to it when it was released as a conversion kit). :D

puckman pronounced as standart pacman or as poukman?

My understanding is Pacman actually started as "Puckman", but they changed it shortly there after when they saw how determined people were to vandalize the P to look like an F on the cab's artwork.

This one has to win:

"Homo"

It's actually a pretty good game if I remember it correctly from MAME, but I don't think I'd want credit for owning an actual cab.

According to the Namco marquees, the Japanese pronunciation of Puckman would be along the lines of "PAH-KU-MAHN" (パックマン) and Galaga would be "GHEEYAH-RAH-GAH" (ギャラガ).

Upright or cocktail? ;)

My inner immaturity revealed

Come to think of it I also avoid refering to the game (Pole Postion Cockpit) and sometimes referred to as (Pole Position Sit Down)...........:p

This stuff just writes itself.....

You know, when people ask me what games I own I always pause when I come to Bubble Bobble. People who don't know the game think it's a game for children or something. Great game, but not exactly the macho-est of names. :)

I have had that same issue with my Lucky and Wild and I have only had it about a month. The only difference is my buddy thought it was an inflatable doll :)

Any time I make mention of my Lucky and Wild in person, I feel like I have to look around first before saying it, because I feel like it sounds like a pr0n.

Are there any other arcade games you sometimes think twice about before saying out loud?

Why couldn't they have just called it Tango and Cash, since it's modeled after them anyway??!! Cheap suckers (didn't want to pay for licensing)!
