Game music on youtube

While at it, check this one out:

Arcade music would soon disappear into the void of
compressed audio files and no longer be created
on-the-fly by sound chips, sadly.

This song utilizes the Ensoniq ES5505 (OTIS) and
ES5510. Ensoniq's office was in Malvern, PA (near
philadelphia) and was sold to Creative Labs in the mid-90s.

There is something about music and sound being
created natively rather than just playing back
digitized sound files.

Game music on terrestrial radio (and internet) every Friday from 4 - 6pm (pacific) on KSPC 88.7FM Claremont. Its worth a listen ;)

These MP3s are from an old Japanese LP from the 80s by Haruomi Hosono: Namco "Video Game Music". http://www.discogs.com/viewimages?release=1973253

Hosono did the Metriod music too.

Most of these MP3s aren't on youtube. Some of the MP3s are just music strait off the boards (like Pac Man) but some of them he plays around with and comes up with some sick stuff. I'm not sure whether he hooked midi up to the analog circuitry or whether he adds additional synths or what but he gets pretty cool results.

Galaga is definately worth a listen.
