I'm helping someone that has an multicade on their rental property. It "was" running (the on-board power supply fried) a JAMMA GAME KING 2100 IN 1 MULTI BOARD (G1S2p) and needs the board replaced.

I'm unfamiliar with these, but they look to be a pc platform with the games loaded on a HDD and Jamma interface. Apparently, these are now discontinued and would like to replace it with something that won't cause me to re-wire the cabinet with regards to power and control buttons. The cabinet is wired for:
  1. 2-player with 6 buttons and Joystick
  2. Power comes into the cabinet to a typical switcher. AC side of the switcher has connection to a computer power plug for the Jamma Game King and LCD monitor.

I'm thinking about putting a Pandora box in there, but will need to rewire the power. Is there another option you all have seen that's more "plug and play" and robust? What's the difference between the Game King and Pandora, with regards to gameplay and function? I'm not sure what the PC platform of the game king buys you.

Game King's basically a PC running a JAMMA I/O card, so it boots slower but has better emulation than a Pandora. If you want plug-and-play, a Pandora CX or DX will drop right in with minimal rewiring, just make sure your power supply's solid 5V. You'll lose the HDD setup but gain reliability
