Sweet!! Can't wait to hear the story. Compaired to other parts of the country suff like this does not seem to happen much in IL.

Ok here we go. I got a random pm from xrayrox last week saying hey i have a deal for you. Theres a guy with some cheap games and a juke. All i want is the juke. Haul it all and you can have the games. So today i borrowed a box truck with a liftgate from my work(the parks of working at a car lot) and off we went.

If any of you rockford/chicago guys remember there were ads about cheap games for sale in marengo, but the email didnt work. These are some of those games. We both missed the tron by about a week :(

I was unable to get pics of the action, the guy was in kind of a hurry to leave but i did get some victory pics!

Don was there earlier and picked up a dkjr cab that has a vs kit in it with rbi baseball? and an asteroids deluxe.

Heres the game list, nothing spactacular but for the price, what the hell:

- Taito twin eagle in a game plan cab works but wells 4600 needs cap kit and too much blue, controls need tlc.

- Phrase craze in a stern cab of some sort with pcb access at the bottom. powered on and played(needs caps) but when powered off it would not power back on, suspect ps issue as monitor was still on.

- Some weired cinematronics baseball game in a berzerk cab with the oddest cp ive ever seen, looks like old school rc car controls on there from factory plays blind

- Kee/atari games sprint 2. Plays blind, but monitor is glowing?? Has one blown fuse in the monitor that i replaced but no difference, fuse is not re-blowing. Cab is decent, cp was perfect but got a little boogered because we had a snafu getting it up the narrow stairs of his house. In hindsight i should have taken off the cp.

- don got a weired/cool vertical jukebox by nsm? Really neat, i wish he didnt want it.

ALL OF THOSE HAVE SOME SORT of dampness damage some look like they took on water others just smell funny. Looks like the sprint 2 is the winner out of the bunch with almost no water damage or smell and its the only frickin one thats dedicated.

On a plus note he does have a parts sprint 2, along with two or three console jukes in a dirt floor shed that we got to see from a distance but are BURIED. We didnt have time to grab them today unfortunately. He also has a NICE and i mean NIIIIICCEE bally old chicago for $300 that one of us might persue, and a pinbot thats NFS unfortunately.

So all in all what the heck, it was a fun trip.

The nintendo (dk jr originally) cab is junk, dumpster fodder. If somebody local( like the guy i gave the black nintendo cab to) needs parts lmk. Ive yanked all the parts out of it except the pcb cage and its headed for the dumpster tommorow. Cab is WAYYYY too far gone. A local may have the wiring, power supply, transformer, coin door, glass for free. I really dont want to hassle with shipping, im already behind on stuff to ship. I will be keeping the monitor for now(inop but no burn either) and don is keeping the board and cp.

Nice that the Sprint 2 is playing blind. All 3 of the ones I have owned had working monitors but board problems.

When i first plugged it in, it would just buzz through different sounds when any button or switch was pressed. Come to find out it was in test mode!!! Once i turned off the test switch tada coins up and can hear it play.. Its odd though. The monitor has neckglow, the screen lights up a mostly even glow, but no picture, yet when powered off the monitor shows a nice bright dot.

There is mouse poop and some corrosion on the pcb, so at this point im not sure if i have a monitor issue or a pcb issue. I might just have to wait untill i get the parts sprint machine.

Is that Super Dave's picture hanging on the wall in the lineup picture??

Nice pickup guys! I love the hauls with games I've never heard of, it's almost like they are still making new games that show up now and then!

i cant even find another picture of that jukebox, its a weired one but cool too. SOmething you could put right along your antique furniture and get awawy with it.

I believe you may be right.

Unfortunataly around these parts conversions are extermely commonplace.

the one thats in a former berzerk cabinet seems to have too many boards.... hmm...

Yeah, those baseball games by Cinemetronics all used the same duramold control panel assemblies. Those analog joystick controllers (actually pot controlled) were specific to those games and kinda neat to play. I found one bolted to the top of a Food Fight cab I got (converted to Double Play Baseball) and the OP who converted it just HACKED a big square in the food fight CP to allow the wiring through.
