Arachnid Galaxy Top Gun Hangs on "Installation In Progress" on startup. LED 1 (systems operational) on main board does NOT light. Here is what I have tried and done thus far:

1. Dart hit detection system appears to work. If I tap a target, LED 2 on main PCB and an LED on the back of the matrix light up.
2. All voltages checked and spot on
3. Reset button on Main PCB works.
4. Test button does nothing either pressed momentarily or held in.
5. I disassembled, inspected and clean the board/matrix. No issues discovered.
6. I left it on for hours, some chips get warm
7. I get a sound when I coin up
8. I removed, inspected and reseated all of the chips and the main Eprom.
9. If I remove the bottom left connector, the machine beeps about a dozen times, then I get the Eprom error. Im not sure what/where the enter button is as described on the screen.
10. I tried to get it to boot with the phone line to the dart head removed with no success.
11. Should have been #1, I searched the KLOV forum for a solution.
12. I cannot get it to test mode
13. No visual defects or prior repairs done

Any further suggestions? I don't know what else to check. Apparently the game worked fine before a couple of hundred mile transport and some cold weather. Im convinced its something very minor I am overlooking. Does anyone troubleshoot/repair these boards? Anybody have a working one for sale? I see an uprgraded Eprom 7.04 is available. Will that solve the problem? I got this machine for my wife, and I have to get it working ASAP!

Thanks for any suggestions in advance!

Solved

Solved, Coin door slot wiring was a little mixed up. Straitened it out and machine boots up perfectly! Crazy to think something so minor messed up the entire initialization sequence. also, I feel kinda dumb for not realizing the enter button is on the front panel!

More clarifying details in case anyone else is messing with one of these:

When I was going over the game, and buttoning things up before bringing it to Mike, I noticed the wires on the left coin switch had come off. Not thinking, I popped them back on and went about my business. Turns out, I inadvertently must have hooked it to N.C instead of N.O, so the initialization cycle was getting hung up on a "closed" credit switch.

So if you find your Galaxy getting stuck on "Initializing", check all your buttons and switches.

Sorry about that, Mike. :)

We only had a couple of these games on our route back in the day. They were so troublesome that my boss ended up converting the entire route to Medalist brand equipment. The constant service calls on Arachnid made equipment was the killer.
