Hey all!

I just got word that what is believed to be the first coin-operated video game ever will be at CAX this year!

It was called "Galaxy Game" and was originally installed at Tressider Union at Stanford University. More information can be found on KLOV here:

It should be fun to see this major piece of gaming history first hand!

Sweet!

I've got to make a point of getting to that Cocktail Space Zap while it's working this time.

Would Ken happen to have a Circus for the B&W Ball?

Awesome to be able to see one functioning rather than the roped off cabs at the Computer History Museum.

That's great to hear Jonathan.

I've wanted to see this machine since I first heard about it a couple years ago. I learned to program on a DEC PDP 11/70 and a PDP 1 in the late '70s early 80s. I have a soft spot for Dec machines so I hope this is working and playable.

Looking fwd to seeing it.

OK, I've gotta post this... I just came back to my hotel room after helping Bill set up his Galaxy Game!! I'm still geeking out about it. My son and I were first to play it tonight and played probably a dozen games on it. I have some pics I'll post after CAX of it. Got to talk to him about it and he showed me how to reset it in case too many games get backed up - an artifact of the game as he said...cool.

That was so worth the trip for me and the show isn't even until tomorrow.
