I've got a nice Galaxian I'd like to trade. Everything works well. Let me know what you've got.

I really miss the G that I sold a few years back. I have been kicking myself ever since. I'd like to buy yours (I know you said FT) but I'm assuming that you can't or wouldn't deliver it to Chatham Ontario, about 2 hours from you. I no longer have my trailer or a car with a trailer hitch otherwise I might have bought a pass-port just to come over there. Oh well. I'm sure some other lucky SOB will get it.

GLWTS,

Bill B.

dude you couldn't PAY me enough $ to drive that over the border, of the 6 times I've been to/from the border when i purchase arcade games up in Ontario, it's been nothing short of hell getting thru and coming back.

Lol, it's not too bad but they do look for anything unusual and you can tell by the line of questioning they're looking for you to slip up on your story. I bought a boat in NY and brought it back to MI through Canada and I was sure I get read the riot act. Oddly it wasn't bad it all. The only person that grilled me was the customs agent getting back into the states. I think most they're looking for people smuggling drugs.

i have a 100% clean record. and yet those douchebags dare question if i have pounds of weed/whatever inside my arcade cabs! they are not god. they should be fired for stupidity. i hate border guards. fire them all.

Can't say that I blame you. I've driven over to MI several times and come back via tunnel, PortHuron-Sarnia bridge, St.Clair river ferry after dark, whatever and it's always the same hassle. Some idiot wants to know the country of origin and for me to pay duty on a 30 year old game as if I went to Walgreens and bought it new or something. It's stupid. One time I had to take the back door off of the game and prove that there were no drugs stashed inside it. Also had to open the hood of my car and let some jerk poke around under there. He found a small clear plastic sandwich bag that had obviously blown up in there from the road and got caught by a brake line. He made me fish it out and he ripped it all apart and found only dirt and rain water. I get tired of the officials all looking at me like I just killed a child's baby kitten or whatever. I'll admit, I haven't crossed the border since the whole "Canadians now must present a pass-port" thing happened several years ago. Getting games shipped over the border costs more than most games so it's not really worth it and the trouble the seller has to go through to pallet it and the trouble I have to go through to arrange a shipper and a broker is just awful. Nothing but worries, high risk of damage, you know how it goes. Still, if renting a cargo van wasn't so expensive or if I owned a truck then I'd probably buzz over there for the Galaxian. One day of discomfort would be worth it.

You know, you just don't see many all original working Galaxians anymore. It's a simple game but I really enjoy it and the 60-in-1 emu cards got the sounds all wrong. The gameplay isn't as complex as Galaga but it has it's own charm and nothing else sounds the same. I played it when it came out in 1979 and the color screen just blew me away because it was one of the very first color games.

Someone will be lucky to buy it.

THANK YOU! someone that finally relates to the horror stories of the border!!!

I got stopped one time where they made me go in the building while they did their unwarranted illegal search of my entire van inside and out.

I guess when crossing the border, you are guilty until proven innocent.

It's probably hell cuz you are dealing with US Border Security....not the nicest folks. For us Canucks we tell our border guards (Eastern Ontario) we have a game and they send us inside to pay a bit of tax and then we are on our way home. Easy Peasy. I've never had a problem.

I have brought at least 2 dozen games accross the border over the years, both into and out of Canada and never had a problem. I guess it just depends on the border crossing. I used to live in Windsor and that border can be difficult even when you are not bringing in a machine. Although I did pick up a Q-Bert in Windsor last year and drove through Michigan and back into Canada through the Sault Ste. Marie border without any problem at all. Just make sure you have a receipt or some proof of the purchase price and that is all you need.

not sure i've ever gone thru windsor with a game (been thru windsor tunnel/bridge itself 100s of times), but most of my game road trips are always thru the sarnia border.
