I just picked up a Galaxian cab this weekend, and it has vertical lines for everything on the playfield. Any idea what might cause this? It also looks like the images are doubled. Is this is the case as well, or is it just related to whatever is causing the vertical lines?

Ah, sorry for posting it in the wrong section. If someone wants to move this that's fine.

I figured it might be a ram issue from some of the other threads I've looked at. What steps should I take in trying to fix the issue?

Like I said, please move if this is in the wrong section (which it seems to be). I'm sorry for posting it in general when it should have been in repair. I'll be more careful next time.

But yes, I would still like to know how to fix the issue. If it is a vertical counter or ram issue, either way it's not functioning correctly and I'd like to learn how to fix it.

just seems odd to take the time to point out a problem then leave the guy hangin even if he did post in the wrong section.

That is standard operating procedure for some people who shall remain nameless.

I stand by what I posted before... The OP would have much better luck posting in the repair section.

It "LOOKS" like a RAM issue.

IIRC One of the more reputable people (channelmanic) fix these and could probably help out the OP.

Ok, so I made a new thread in the repair section, just go here.
Again, sorry for posting this in the wrong section. We can all just disregard this thread now.

Fixing other people's shit for free isn't my job.... I told him where to look... if that wasn't enough help, then he doesn't have the skills to fix it, and its a waste of my time to type any more.

...except for the fact that Galaxian has a RAM test which does a pretty good job of catching bad ram, and that issue is obviously an issue with the video output/display circuitry.

You lack the technical competence to determine who is and isn't a reputable repairman.
