ok so i picked up a galaxian that had a new monitor installed..well lets say its boletd in

The monitor is hard wired to the power cord so when you plug it in you hear a weird high pitched noise. I am pretty sure it dosnt need an isolation transformer but after that i have no clue what colors i should attach to what. Any help would be more than appreciated.

I get no white screen or anything from monitor when power is to it. just the weird noise

here are a few pics for you guys to get an idea of what i have

Trying to figure this out.

I pulled the schematic for a ktn-2001 but it does not seem to match up with the board i have.

looking closer at picture 2 i see another number

ke 0904 26 at the top right. could this be a different chassis on a ktn-2001 tube?

if so anyone have that schematic?

ALso anyone familiar with monitors that can tell me what a high pitched noise coming from the monitor is from?

Does the game play blind? Many monitors will make a louder than normal high pitched whine if they aren't getting any sync signal (horizontal oscillator just running). Are you getting neck glow? You won't normally get anything on the screen unless you have it connected to a game, or you have the brightness cranked up. Normal blank raster on a working, correctly adjusted monitor will be almost invisible. Crank up the SCREEN control on the flyback and see if you can get retrace lines.

Im not getting anything at all.

I messed with the brightness but get nothing. I have no video lines connected at this point though. I was assuming that i would see a white screen or something without them connected. it is a brand new monitor so im hoping its still good.

neck glow? guess i will have to look at that. not sure to be honest

I am trying to figure out how to connect the wires to the galaxian harness but cant seem to fine a schematic for this chasis. the ktn-2001 does not seem to match up

You will only see a white screen if you crank up the SCREEN control, or similar. A standard monitor, working correctly, and properly adjusted, should display a nearly completely black image with nothing connected to it. As the horizontal oscillator has nothing to lock on to, you'll usually get a louder/different version of the usual "TV squeal" that all 15.75khz monitors make.

Sometimes it can be hard to see - turn out the lights in the room, you should have a faint orange glow from the neck of the tube. Also, with the lights out, the face of the tube will be easier to see if it's lit up at all.

Also, when you turn OFF the monitor, you should get a white flash on the screen if it's working correctly.

You don't need a schematic - the pins are labeled on the board right next to the video connector.
