Just got this caberet, and whilst it works, it has a wierd split screen and figured would ask here if its something simple??

Hopefully the picture and video can make sense of the issue, and hopefully someone can shed some light on it :)
Thanks

nope sadly wished was that easy, does nothing apart from make screen unviewable at all, wont restore it, that was my first thinking

its like when you hook up a 31k picture to std res and does 2 images, but isnt exactly mirrored, more split :(

What monitor is it?

just looked chassis says g07-FB0 it has those jumpers where you can move it from center/left/right for hori and vert, tried all those and still the same :(

I don't think it is the monitor, I had a similar issued with a DK board set, and it was the clock board. what speed does the game play? Can you hook up the monitor to another game? I will put games back to back and plug the video from a known good game to the monitor of a game with bad video. At least they way you don't waste your time on a monitor that is good.

yeah that was going to be my next step, I got another monitor just need to dig it out, that way should be able to narrow it down, I have another Galaxian board, but when I hook that up now, its just a high pitched sound and a blue screen :(

see thats where I get into unknown terrority, other than checking to see if it has power to save -5v, 12v or 110v, im kinda stuck :(

Well, if you have a logic probe, frequency counter, or an oscilloscope you can check their outputs... replace the bad one.

same thing with a known working G07 that displays a perfect picture, so its board related :( need to find someone that can change out chips now

so I see this is Namco conversion class, can I find a different board and just swap out the Galaxian roms? are they the socketed chips ? or still cheaper to find just a plain old galaxian board?

Get the PCB to Hamsterl he can probe and/or scope the areas of interest. I'm thinking the same thing as channelmanic... something stuck in the vert counters. I'd specifically check the 1V, 2V and 4V lines. If they're being generated correctly (at 5A), move on to the gates that handle flipping (at 5B).
