I have had a Galaga for about a year. It smelled of cat pee and the cabinet needed a little work. I let it air out for a while outside. Besides being dirty, it played fine ... but some white vertical lines would sometimes roll down or flicker on the screen.

I recently refinished. Took everything apart, cleaned, painted, laminated and put new artwork on it. Looks great. I was hoping the flickering would go away with reassembly, but it did not.

Re-capped the main boards. Same issue. Recapped the monitor. Same issue. Getting ready to check voltages and clean connectors. Don't have a real plan. Anyone have any words of wisdom? Seen and fixed with before? I have not attempted to adjust the monitor, but figure it will not fix this. Also have not messed with the chips or the RAM. I am still learning.

Just my normal guess with video issues, take out chip at 1H on video board, and clean inside and out side of legs, and reseat. If that helps, replace that socket.

be careful with the customs. If the legs are black-ish pull them with caution. Clean and re-install.

Sounds like it is a good idea to clean all the chips and replace the sockets. That is likely above my skill / confidence level. Could you guys recommend someone I could pay to do?

Right here. PM me if you want to send it in.

FYI, if your board has un encapsulated resistor packs they should get replaced. They will fail. Its not a matter of if. Its when.
