Galaga video issue (video - ooooh exciting)

No dice. Doesn't even matter if the sync is hooked up; screen garbage is the exact same. Strange, when I turn the pots on the neckboard nothing changes, either. No color changes, nothing. The majority of the screen garbage has a blue tint to it.

Dammit. Bedtime. You know, there's no guarantee that I have this thing all wired properly. I think I do, but I put it back together from someone else's pieces, so there's a chance I missed something. I dunno what, but that would be my luck.

That looks like it needs a horizontal freq/hold adjustment... everything looks like it's wrapping, like in this pic: http://www.therealbobroberts.net/slanted.html . Your starfield looks fine because random narrow dots still look like random narrow dots when wrapped, but anything with width gets broken apart.

Adjust the H Freq on the chassis, it is not on the neck board. There is nothing on the neck board that is causing your problem.

so you just tweaked it and it held fine with a good pic? Mine had similar issues I believe were from a recent capkit and 'upgrade' as suggested on the bob roberts kit (which he mentioned an adjustment of the hor-freq would need to be made) and I read this, and tried to tweak mine but it never made a difference throughout the entire range. Once and a while it'll just 'snap' to the right pic and stay at random without me touching any adjustments, but when I shut it off, then turn it back on, it goes back to the horizontally streaked whackyness.

might have to regardless. I think I stripped it out adjusting it up and down... I'm going to re-flow some things and give it another shot. Hopefully the coil isn't ruined either ($10 wasted).
