Just picked up this Galaga board. The video board looks a bit odd- it doesn't say "Galaga Video CPU" on it like my other ones. Can anyone explain what I have here?

It's no bootleg with those rom labels and custom chips.

It could be the Italian Sidam version. I have one, I'll have to double check. If it is, it's pretty rare and collectible.

Please post a pic of the other side too.

Not a bootleg, that looks like it's the Namco version of the Galaga video board. The Custom ICs, the layout & chip locations are in the same position as the Midway Galaga video board which has the printed "video PC" on it. The Namco Galaga CPU was a very different layout.

I have a few Namco boardsets and video boards all look like that. Interestingly the Namco ones also all have two 2148 SRAMs for the sprite line buffers instead of the 8 x 2147 SRAMs

Correct, Namco. Silly me, I knew it was a Namco by the chip labels.........

I mixed it up with the Sidam Bosconian I recently picked up:

Got me excited for a minute there... Regardless, thanks for the help! I hooked it up and it works, aside from a weird random "whump" sound during game play that I'll be looking into.
