Just wondering what type of t-molding was original on galaga. I plan to restore mine soon and right now it has black smooth t-molding which I think is the original but I have read in a few places that the original was the black textured, just wondering which one is correct.

Sounds good, I wanted to make sure before I ordered it. I know that arcadeshop.com has the textured molding and it says used for galaga but I am sure my cabinet has never had any work done to it and it has smooth t molding.

Big negatory on the smooth for mine. I have an original untouched Galaga with the serial number embossed in the molding, the original molding on it is the textured (leather) black t-molding. Same as Ms. Pac. Perhaps they changed over on some units.

I've never seen a Bally game (with black t-molding) that wasn't leatherette.

Every non-converted, non-restored, all original Galaga i've ever seen used the Leather textured black T-Molding.

Midway seemed to really like the stuff.

Tmold

I have one here with the SN burned in the smooth tmolding that I assumed was origional. Now that I think about it. Most of the Midways I have had are the textured leather style. This is the one I was near when I answered the post. I am going to look at the others I have here today and report back. I have put green on so many of them that I guess I dont remember.
