The power connection going into the power pcb in my Galaga is hot. I mean so hot you can't touch it. <snip>
It's possible. I suppose I'll start with a rebuild and then work from there but I'm glad to know that someone else is experiencing this on a rebuilt power pcb.I was working on some Galaga boards in the garage and saw your thread. I felt of the power connector and it was the same way - too hot to hold you fingers on. My power board has been totally rebuilt so I had no clue why.
As I was testing some other Galaga boards (one set worked) I realized that when the other boards were hooked up, the connector wasn't hot. I don't know the exact reason but I figure something on one of the first set of boards was pulling a ton of current? Could that be your problem instead of the power board? Perhaps something to look into or ask the repair guys here.
