Who's the guy on the forums repairing Galaga boards and doing all the upgrades (resistor packs, for example)? Mine's flaking out and I'm thinking it's the resistors.

Plays perfectly, until it decides to do something totally random. Boots up correctly about 1 of every 5 times. Power supply voltage is correct and verified. Display is gorgeous, all graphics are clear and correct, then out of the blue during attract mode, for example, it'll kick the sound on, flip the screen upside down, restart, etc.

Thanks for the pr0pz!

Right now I'm very backed up on repairs. I'll be taking the first 2 weeks in August off and will be getting caught up.

The kit contains replacements for all of the crappy resistor packs and 24/28/40/42 pin sockets that the boards were built with.

Cool.

Can you send out the kit sooner than later, or is that what's backing you up? I can do the soldering. August/September/October is birthday month for my kids. Gotta get the games going ASAP! :)

You have a PM about the kit.

Instructions are on the downloads section of my site.

Not sure if I have an extra... I have a pile of chips to go through still.

Galagas have gotten so cheap that they're not worth repairing anymore...

I agree for the most part. Even though they still sell for upwards of $100, the time involved in fixing them doesnt make it worthwhile.
Galaga on a multiboard runs beautiful so its really hurting the value of the dedicated boards.
